Pagoda Dogwood:

A Native Gem for Your Landscape

The Pagoda Dogwood (Cornus alternifolia), native to eastern North America, is a stunning tree growing 15-25 feet tall and wide. Its unique tiered branching pattern resembles a pagoda. In spring, it blooms with creamy-white flowers that attract pollinators, followed by blue-black fruits in summer loved by birds. Autumn brings reddish-purple leaves.

Adaptable and low-maintenance, it thrives in various soils and partial shade. It is considered a wetland indicator species with a ‘FACU’ status, meaning it occurs in both wetland and non-wetland habitats.

Plant pagoda dogwood to enhance your landscapes and support local wildlife, available now  in #3 containers.

Native plants create stunning, practical landscapes that save time, cut costs, and conserve resources while boosting the environment. They manage stormwater, enrich soil, and support wildlife. The Springfield, Missouri residential design pictured here showcases this with species like swamp milkweed and prairie dropseed, highlighting teamwork between architect and landscaper. Design principles include site-specific planning and precision using topographic surveys. Native plants reduce stormwater runoff by 65% or more, lower maintenance, increase biodiversity, and offer year-round beauty.
