Psalm 119:71 (KJV)
71  It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.

AFFLICTED-a primitive root [possibly rather identical with <H6030> (`anah) through the idea of looking down or browbeating]; to depress literal or figurative, transitive or intransitive (in various applications, as follow) :- abase self, afflict (-ion, self), answer [by mistake for <H6030> (`anah)], chasten self, deal hardly with, defile, exercise, force, gentleness, humble (self), hurt, ravish, sing [by mistake for <H6030> (`anah)], speak [by mistake for <H6030> (`anah)], submit self, weaken, × in any wise.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:

Sunday, OCTOBER 4, at 11:00 AM, I am HONORED to be ministering in Word and song at:

IN-CHRIST CHURCH

349 MACON ST.

MCDONOUGH, GA.

Off the square and across the street from Snapper mower.

I PRAY you are able to be there!

A DEAR friend posted the video of me singing THROUGH IT ALL-

to my beloved daughter Amanda last week and a couple of days later it was

"ME, ME, IT'S ME O LORD-STANDING IN THE NEED OF PRAYER!!!!"

After a short ambulance ride to the local hospital, I spent the next 36 hours hooked up to an IV and

heart monitor, TOTALLY dependent of the care and wishes of those charged with my welfare.

THANK GOD FOR ALL YOU NURSES, DOCTORS, FIRST RESPONDERS AND CARE GIVERS!

SMILE-In some ways, it was like a mini-vacation for me!!??

It was an EYE-OPENING EXPERIENCE for me.

I am a GIVER by nature and NOT a TAKER!!!

It is USUALLY me being the one GIVING, ME being the one CARING.

David said:

Psalm 119:71 (KJV)
71  It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.

It was "GOOD FOR ME that I have been afflicted!"

Andrea Crouch wrote,

"IF I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM HOW COULD I KNOW THAT GOD COULD SOLVE THEM?

HOW COULD I KNOW WHAT FAITH IN GOD CAN DO????"

As I lay there in my UN-comfortable hospital bed, hooked up to machinery Tuesday night, I

pondered and feared the next day's procedures.

After over 40 years of hospital ministry and being of advanced age, I had heard and seen MANY

horror stories about hospital tests, surgeries AND procedures.

In my HUMAN mind, I well knew what COULD happen SOON!!!

And I was powerless to thwart or stop the madness!!

It was ME who had called for help and subjected myself to their care and strangers' decisions.

It was ME who faced the next day all by myself-just me and GOD!!!!!

BUT, at least I HAD made one WISE decision!!!

I had CALLED out for YOUR PRAYERS earlier that Tuesday evening, and it was YOUR

PRAYERS that saved and sustained me in that long and sleepless night.

It was YOUR PRAYERS that helped me ace the stress test on that runway and soon enough I was

released with a clean bill of health on my heart!

Psalm 119:71 (KJV)
71  It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.

As I laid there all night, I quoted to myself the WORD OF GOD:

Psalm 91:1-3 (KJV)
1  He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2  I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

3  Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

How WELL did I remember my dear friend Pastor Bill being diagnosed with cancer and MY telling

him the HORROR STORIES I had seen and heard of OTHERS with similar diagnoses.

How WELL did I remember this usually mild mannered man of God getting ANGRY and yelling at

me to HUSH UP/SHUT UP!!!

"HMMP," he retorted, "it may have happened to them, BUT.......

Psalm 91:7 (KJV)
7  A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Well, beloved, GUESS WHAT:

Psalm 91:7 (KJV)
7  A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Through OUR God, I dodged a bullet from the enemy last Wednesday!!!

As my dear son Joshua OFTEN quotes:

Isaiah 54:17 (KJV)
17  No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

The enemy MAY, DOES and WILL "FORM a WEAPON against you and I," BUT IT SHALL

NOT PROSPER!!!!!

TODAY, take this Word to the bank and get angry with the devil!!!

Tell him to SHUT UP-TAKE HIS TALL AND GO BACK TO #$%@!!!

Quoting Andrea Crouch again:

"OUR TRIALS ONLY COME TO MAKE US STRONG!"

AMEN AND AMEN!!??

GOD BLESS YOU!
