A Habitat home is a stabilizing force for a family. Better, affordable living conditions lead to improved health, stronger childhood development and the ability — and financial flexibility — to make forward-looking choices. Children of homeowners are 116% more likely to graduate from college compared with children in families who do not own their homes!
Habitat works to eliminate barriers to a better, healthier, more financially stable life. With a little help, we all have the potential to stand on our own. Here at Habitat, we help people reach the potential that is and has always been within them by providing access, tools, and opportunity.
Thanks to you, we have built 106 Habitat homes in Denton County since 1994. Our homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better future for themselves and for their families. Thank you for working alongside our homeowners to build homes, communities, and hope, through your time, efforts, and financial support.

Our 107th Habitat home is already in its early preparation stages! Despite the recent rain, foundation preparations and inspections have continued on schedule. Did you know that in addition to our amazing Construction Manager we also have a Build Committee of skilled volunteers who help to conquer the many pre-build tasks? They are true behind-the-scenes heroes and we cannot thank them enough for all they do for our mission and our families. Please continue praying for good weather moving forward so that we can build this home quickly and get the Johnson family moved in by Christmas!
We like to kick off each build with a "Groundbreaking Ceremony," where we bless the building of the home. The future homeowners, our volunteers, and sponsors don hard hats and shovels and ceremoniously break ground on the home! This build's Groundbreaking Ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 10 at 10:00 AM. The address of the build is 601 Rose Street, Denton, TX 76209. We hope you will join us to kick off this build and meet the Johnson family!

Habitat Denton's Board of Directors are some of the most dedicated individuals in the area! The makeup of our Board is extremely diverse, including realtors, lawyers, commercial loan bankers, insurance agents, roofers, financial specialists, and more. We are grateful for their visionary support and wide range of expertise, helping us to strategize new and more efficient ways to build affordable homes alongside more families in our community. Their passion toward our vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live is so evident in their hard work and support. So much of their work is done behind the scenes, and we cannot thank them enough for all they do for Habitat!

Meet one of our amazing ReStore Associates, Annette! Annette celebrated her one-year anniversary of working at the ReStore this month. Annette, the creative soul of the ReStore, is captivated by Habitat's mission to build affordable homes in our community. She loves getting to witness new homeowners receiving the keys to their Habitat homes.
In her role at the ReStore, Annette strives to organize donations, provide great customer service, and tackle challenges - all while having fun. Mr. Bennut, Annette's Emotional Support Animal and the ReStore Mascot, goes everywhere Annette does to spread barks and positivity. Come say hi to Annette (and Mr. Bennut) today!
The ReStore has new store hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM on Tuesday - Saturday at 1805 Cornell Lane, Denton, TX 76201.

We are raising funds to develop 8 acres of vacant land in Southeast Denton and establish a new "Habitat Village" housing development on the property. As many as 35 new affordable homes will be built alongside local families in need via this development. This project involves developing the infrastructure of this neighborhood, including the streets, sidewalks, utilities, proper drainage requirements, and everything else needed to support a neighborhood of 35 homes.

From now through September 17, you can adopt a duck for the Duck Derby at Cross Timbers Rotary Club's Rhythms at the River Walk fundraiser! For each duck we sell from Habitat Denton's personal web page, Cross Timbers Rotary Club will donate one "Buck-A-Duck" ($1) to Habitat Denton!
Thank you, Cross Timbers Rotary Club, for this fun way to give back to local nonprofits!
