Last Thursday's West Coast Swing night had 50 people. This Thursday, November 9, our West Coast Swing November series continues—and newcomers can still join in! No partner required, no experience necessary. This is the best beginner series in the area if you want to start learning West Coast Swing.

West Coast Swing Workshop
and Social Dance Night

The West Coast Swing Whip is the gold-standard move by which all dancers are measured. The perfect phrasing of the whip makes it one of the most used and embellished moves. Understanding how to lead / follow a perfect whip and how to redesign it is the difference between the beginner and the advanced dancer. Perhaps one of the best things about the Whip is that it can morphed and augmented in so many different ways that there are literally hundreds of different combinations. These workshops will expose you to many of those possibilities.
After these workshops, you'll always look to the whip to improve your dance. The whip is the friend of every advanced dancer - it's time for you to become friends with as many whips as possible!

We know that many of you have met many new friends through dance and even in our very own studio. Musicality III for West Coast Swing: Lyricism

In Musicality III: Lyricism, we will be exploring how to make the lyrics come alive through your dancing. The art of lyricism comes from the ability to select the lyrics that you choose to amplify, create a "window" to display the lyric, and communicating that lyrical idea with your partner and to the audience. These workshops are specifically designed for West Coast Swing dancers who want to expand their own musical consciousness and develop a greater appreciation for the dance.
Although it's beneficial to your learning process to have previously taken Musicality Parts I & II, it is not required in order to attend Part III.

Private Lessons, Workshops,
and Social Dance Night

Since Stanislav Ivanov started dancing West Coast Swing in 2013, he has taken the scene by storm. In that time, he has done what few dancers have dared to accomplish—reaching the Champions division through the Jack & Jill point system. Within 10 years, he placed out of Newcomer (March 2013), Novice (September 2013), Intermediate (November 2014), Advanced (May 2017), and All-Star (April 2023) in a division of improvisational, random-partnered competitions. Stanislav's accomplishment is a unique achievement and demonstrates that he is an expert-level dancer who has danced his way into the Champions division.
In these workshops, Stanislav will guide you through developing a dance from its most elemental "Newcomer" form to its most polished "Champion" level look.

Private Lessons
Improve your dancing
in the shortest amount of time
Private lessons are one of the best ways to improve your dancing in the shortest amount of time. Connection, timing, technique, musicality, and spins and turns can be clarified at your own tempo.

We strive to balance providing a safe environment while returning to a normal social setting. The following policy is subject to change at any time in the event of new guidance issued by the CDC, state, or local governments. By attending any of our classes/privates/events, you agree to this health policy. Effective June 1, 2023:
COVID-19 Waiver: If you are new to our dance studio, please print, sign, and bring this waiver to your first class.
Common Sense Health: 1) If you are not feeling well, please do not come to dance class. 2) If you've been in a high-density environment (e.g., plane, wedding, conference), it would be appreciated if you took a home-COVID test before your class.
Health Cooperation: Students will cooperate with any health requests from Erik Novoa, guest instructor, or staff (e.g., using hand sanitizer, using a mask, stepping outside to address a health issue, etc.).
Registration: You must pre-register online for these classes. We will not be touching credit cards or cash.
