HAPPENING SUNDAY
Vicar Amber's Message
“Look toward heaven and count the stars, if you are able to count them… So shall your descendants be.”
There is something about looking at the stars that can make one feel so small, and yet so regarded. Small, because the stars point out the mysterious expanse beyond our planet – a mystery science seems to keep making bigger with the discovery of more galaxies and planets beyond our own… Regarded, because the expanse of the cosmos makes God’s attention on our particular blue planet where we live and move and have our being even more surprising and wonderful. Perhaps this is why when Abram (not yet Abraham) feels doubts about God keeping God’s promise of descendants and land, God takes Abram outside to do some stargazing – to experience his smallness and also God’s regard for him.
Creating God, the works of your hands are marvelous, and I am grateful to be one of them. Keep working in my life and in this world so all creation can come to trust you more and more. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

WONDERING...
REAL QUESTIONS FROM REAL PEOPLE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT GLC
Why do we have Rally Day? In general it seems like a way that Lutheran churches often kick off their program year. In recent years at GLC it has become more about celebrating generosity at the end of a budget year and the beginning of a new one. We serve together, have a big worship service, and fellowship on the front lawn. This year, we also celebrate all the ways you've found to show generosity in a pandemic, some of you without even leaving your homes. Rally Day says to us clearly that we are in this together and God continues to be faithful!

We have a team in place working on a long range plan for in-person attendance. If you're interested in serving as a Reader, Acolyte, or recording a greeting please contact Julie.

SMALLER BUT STILL MIGHTY!
Our youth crew may have been smaller in number than in the summer months, but they still got a lot accomplished for the St. Andrew distribution! #generouslifeinChrist

WHOA!
A whopping 18 high schoolers hung out with Jeff and Lisa Cameron, Kevin Swanson, Pastor Trudy, and Vicar Amber at Wheeler Park this past Sunday. Masks were worn, games were played, Jimmy John's sandwiches were consumed, fun was had, NO rice or beans in sight!
