THE LIFE OF JOSHUA – LESSON 3
ON MOUNT SINAI

We saw yesterday that Moses appointed Joshua to lead Israel into battle. A great victory was won, and Joshua continued as the commander of Israel’s army for the next 47 years. But he was much more than just a warrior for God and Israel. He was also mentored to be a spiritual leader. This we see in Exodus 24.
Exodus 24:9 through Exodus 31 details the remarkable encounter by Moses with God. He was called up onto Mount Sinai where God spent 40 days and 40 nights giving Moses the Law in great detail. Yes, it included the Ten Commandments written on stone tablets by the finger of God Himself. But it also included all the details of the “Mosaic Law” and its rituals and tabernacle furnishings.
This encounter started from the camp as Moses took with him 70 elders of Israel, the priest Aaron, Aaron’s two sons Nadab and Abihu who were also priests. As they approached the base of the mountain, God showed His glory to the entire party. Verse 10 days, “They saw the God of Israel; and there was under His feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in His clearness.”
The appearance of God certainly confirmed His reality to the priests and the seventy elders. Then Jehovah told Moses to go up onto the mountain where he would be given tables of stone, a law, and commandments which God had written.
The three priests and the elders were to remain down at the base of Mount Sinai. Verse 13 says, “And Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua; and (they) went up into the mount of God.”
Moses spent 40 days and nights communing with God on the mountain. Only Joshua was permitted to accompany him. What a privilege. What a glorious experience it must have been for Joshua. God was preparing him spiritually for leadership.
The glory cloud of God’s presence covered the whole mountain. Although the cloud covered it, the sight by the people was like a devouring fire at the top of the mountain.
All Israel could see that glory even from a distance. And Joshua was right in the midst of it, with Moses.
There is coming a time when you and I will also see God’s glory in person. It likely will not be while we are on this earth, but it will be in our appointed time.

THE SEED PART 18
JESUS PART 5
DEATH AND RESURRECTION

John 10:10 speaks of the devil’s antics. He comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But Jesus said he came to give us abundant life. Often it is difficult to understand why we go through hard times, but we must realize that our life on earth as flesh is only temporary. There is a time when we leave our mortal lives behind and enter into a new realm with the Lord.
Jesus and his disciples spent three and a half years together. He taught them, he sent them out, and they saw the mighty miracles that happened. They were expecting Jesus to set up an earthly kingdom THEN. But that was not the Father’s plan.
In John 12:24 Jesus said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat [seed] fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” Most of his disciples were either farmers or fishermen so they understood the process of seed being planted. They had no idea that Jesus was speaking of himself.
When plans did not go the way Judas thought they would, he became a betrayer. Satan entered him and for thirty pieces of silver he led Jesus’ adversaries to him. Satan saw victory coming in the arrest of Jesus.
A mockery of a trial was held by the Jews. Jesus was sentenced to death. A Roman cross awaited him. The nails pierced his hands and feet. A spear pierced his side. Death came. A grave awaited him. The devil and his demons rejoiced. They had put to death the Promised Seed.
Then after three days, the once dead and buried Jesus rose from the dead.
It wasn’t the Jew, the Roman soldiers, or anyone else that killed Jesus. It was our sin. Our sin caused him to suffer, bleed, and die. It pleased the Father to put Jesus through this. {Isaiah 53:10-12) But his love for us was greater than our sin. He made a way for us to the Father. Jesus’ death wasn’t the end of the story. The resurrection of Jesus guarantees us eternal life when we receive the Promised Seed into our lives and become born again.
The corn of wheat [the promised seed, Jesus] had sprouted and multiplied through Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. Those that receive Jesus as their savior are born of that seed. 1 Peter tells us that the seed that comes into our lives is incorruptible, meaning that it will never die. It says, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.” The Promised Seed lives forever in us as believers. Now it is time for us to plant it in the lives of others so they, too, will have eternal life. Help make the Promised Seed multiply!Keep the promised seed

For I would say unto you, my child, do not be dismayed at the shaking that is going on around you and even in you. For this shaking is of me. My child have I not said that all that could be shaken will be shaken? And it shall increase exponentially. For it must happen to bring my creation to the foot of my throne in repentance. Yes, my child, I am allowing this shaking, and there will be much more. There will be shakings in the environment, in the weather, in the political realm, and more importantly, in the church. For there are many that would call me Lord, but they do not know me. For, if they knew me, they would hear my voice and follow me. Many are leading my people astray saying peace and safety when there will be no peace and safety other than that which is found in me.
Spend time alone with me. I am jealous for your time saith the Lord. I long for those that say they love me to just get quiet and sit at my feet, letting me touch them deep in their souls. Many are weary, for they have been in many heated battles, some of which were not for them to fight. It is time to withdraw from those things that bring you weariness and just sit at my feet. Let me show you what true love is my child. Let me wrap my arms around you and wipe your tears. Let me carry you through the deep waters, and through the fires that are coming. For I am with you through the chaos, and I am with you through the fire. But these things must come to bring purity to my bride, and a cleansing of the temple.
Oh, my child, the temples are full of vanity and pride, and they must go. The temples are full of deceit and wickedness, and they must be removed. So, as you look at the shaking, know it is for a season to bring you and my body into a pure relationship that depends only upon me. There is no greater support than that is given from the rock that you can lean on, and that rock is me, saith the Lord. Turn your ears off of the chaos and focus on the assignment that I have given you. There are so many distractions that are trying to pull you away from me. Some look very innocent, but they are a trap to keep your eyes off me, saith the Lord. Do not walk in fear. Let the faith that you have developed rise up in you for such a time as this. I have put the scepter out and all you need to do is touch it and you will receive your heart’s desires. Do not focus on things but rather focus on the creator of all things.
There is coming an unravelling that will bring down the house of cards, which was not built on the solid rock. Oh, that my children would see with spiritual eyes and not the natural, for these things have to happen to fulfill my word that has been spoken in times past. There will be an unravelling, and there will be a curtain call for the time of playing is all over. This is the time to be more intent on hearing my voice than ever. Do not be caught off guard. Guard your heart my child, for the traps are being set, and the time of great trouble is at hand. Stay close to me and know that as you go forward, there may be bumps and bruises, but I will see you through if you trust me, saith the Lord. Trust will be shaken in the natural, and in the spiritual realm. Be careful who you open your heart to because the heart is wicked and deceitful. Be careful of the words that you speak over yourself, for they will either bring life or death. I pray for you my child that you will not falter in the days ahead. I am waiting for you in the secret place saith the Lord.

Satan is the enemy of God! We do not play with any of his toys: horoscopes, tarot readings, seances, Halloween and even scary stories because it brings fear into our hearts. The list is just a few of his toys. God is love and He never intended for this to be. The Bible tells us that the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy. So why do you believe that you can walk in any of these practices and NOT be affected by them?
If you have done any of these things and God reveals other things to you: REPENT now and confess your sin and ask for forgiveness. God is full of mercy and forgiveness when we confess our sins.
“How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north;”

We know it was a heart full of envy, jealousy and pride that caused Saul to throw javelins at David in I Samuel 18. In fact, even though he didn’t prove to be successful; Still he was foolish enough to keep on trying. Yes, it was rather obvious that Saul’s jealousy far outweighed his own common sense; As he knew from experience that David was the only person who could actually soothe his troubled spirit…And calm his tormented mind. It’s quite evident yet today that jealousy is all around us…And yes, it’s busy dividing family, friends, churches, homes and businesses. In fact, all you have to do is to look around and you can readily see; The results of how jealousy, pride and envy are totally destroying great friends, good work associates and loving Godly covenant relationships yet today. Now be wise and don’t get nowhere close to…Getting caught up in any of these kind of traps today.
