WEBINAR SERIES CONTINUES
Opening Up in a Pandemic:
The Perils for People with Disabilities

TOWN HALL FOR SELF-ADVOCATES AND FAMILY MEMBERS
Your thoughts on the reopening of
group programs during
the coronavirus pandemic

Thursday, June 25, 2020
2 - 4 pm PT
The California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is working with regional centers, service providers, individuals, and families to develop a "COVID-19 Re-Entry Plan" to reopen congregate (group) programs, such as adult day, work, and social skills programs, in some modified way.

Disability Voices United has heard concerns from many families about the potential reopening of group programs considering the coronavirus is actually increasing in our state.

For our Town Hall, we want to hear from YOU   about your questions and concerns about reopening group programs. YOU will be the experts!

You will get a chance to tell us how you feel about whether it is safe for group programs to reopen and what kinds of services you would like to receive during the pandemic. We will share your views with DDS and other state leaders.

To get the discussion started, we will hear from;

  • Clarissa Kripke, MD, Parent and Director, Office of Primary Developmental Care, UC San Francisco
  • Lisa Szilagyi, Parent and Founder/Director of Programming, The Aurelia Foundation-Creative Steps
  • Additional presenter to be announced
  • Moderated by: Judy Mark, President, Disability Voices United
The webinar will be recorded.
The webinar ID is 882 2799 4741.
