Faces of Faith this week:
The Ethiopian Official
We may find ourselves on a wilderness road. Sometimes it is our own choice, seeking the road less travelled. Other times we make a wrong turn or landmarks have changed since the last time we passed that way. Either way, we go looking for answers and direction. We even open Scripture because other faithful people have told us it helped them. But then, we don't understand it. Oh, what a gift when a companion joins us on that road! The best ones don't solve our problems or take our pain away, but they let us know we aren't alone.
Good and gracious God, on the wilderness roads help us to recognize the companions you send to us and to trust that you are leading. In Jesus' name, Amen.

WONDERING...
Real questions from real people to learn more about faith
|
|
How does the Holy Spirit work? In our passage for this weekend, Philip is directed by an angel and the Spirit and then he is snatched away by the Spirit and deposited in another city. There isn't just one way the Spirit works. Throughout the Hebrew Testament, God's ruach (breath, Spirit), moves through individuals and circumstances and the people of God as a whole, a pattern that continues in the Greek Testament. A companion question may be how do we know it is the Holy Spirit? Stay tuned next week for more about that!

WATER DAY! We'll just say that GLC's water bill might go up just a bit this month! This activity is a camp favorite and this year was no exception!

SCAVENGER HUNT groups assembled before heading out on Third Street. Everyone ended the 'hunt' with a trip to Graham's! That's easy to find!
