Pastor Wende's Weekend Message
A HOME FOR ALL Last week we heard about John the Baptist’s birth. Now he’s all grown-up and preaching! After he calls them (and us) a brood of vipers, he preaches some good news. Bet you can’t wait to hear... what your call might be?!
Powerful God of justice, give us hope. And send Your Spirit to give us strength to truly share what we have. Amen

So many people came to watch the re-enactment of our Savior's birth and enjoy the hot chocolate and cookies—all 1,000 cookies were gone in the first two hours! Enjoy this video of our Live Nativity event! Thanks to all the behind-the-scenes and out-front GLCers who made this night special for all who attended!

WONDERING...
Real questions from real people to learn more about faith
When was John the Baptist born? The best we can do with actual birth dates for John, and Jesus for that matter, is to narrow it down to rough times of the year. Maybe the most shocking thing to learn is that Jesus was not likely born in the winter at all, since shepherds would not have been in fields at that time. Late spring or summer for Jesus and a few months before that for John. There are many reasons for celebrating when we do and how we do, but sometimes it is helpful to remember the 'why' we do! Whenever we are able to set aside some time to ponder our faith and to get a little quiet, it is a faithful thing.

High schoolers purchased gifts for two senior citizens at Greencastle (Aurora) through Radical Love's Adopt a Senior for Christmas program. Gift cards for the staff at Greencastle were also purchased. Turns out this group is full of power shoppers!
