Where were you in 2012? Pastor Trudy began HERE at GLC on February 15, 2012! We'll celebrate our 10 years together at all three worship services this weekend February 12 and 13. During the service we'll have a special presentation along with congregational participation. Come celebrate Pastor Trudy! Let's show her how much we value our partnership in ministry. There will be a box in the Narthex for cards.
Blessings and woes! It may feel like Jesus is picking a fight here. He blesses the poor and speaks woes to the rich. He blesses the hungry and speaks woes to those who are full. Are you getting the idea? Either you are hungry or Jesus speaks woes to you. This doesn't feel like an equation I want to be on either side of and yet...Jesus speaks truth and an invitation. This is what we will explore together this weekend.
God, as we live into the blessings and woes of being human, help us to see that You are right there in the middle of the equation and we are called to move to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

WONDERING...
Real questions from real people to learn more about faith
What are God's views on aggression and how does He want us to keep things peaceful? This question was asked by a student confirmed last October. The answer is...it depends. Which is part of the problem. Sometimes the road to peace requires naming difficult things; things like injustice and inequality. When we start to talk about these things, all kinds of feelings are stirred, including anger. We only need to look as far as Jesus' words in the Gospel this week, which can be so comforting to us in difficult times, but may stir us in other times. Our best measure is to continue to hold our lives up to Jesus' words and actions. When I do this, I find myselfchallenged to continue to grow!
