Transforming Chronic Pain into Hope and Addressing the Opioid Crisis
from 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. at  St. Thomas' Church, Whitemarsh in MacColl Auditorium.
 
The opioid crisis has shocked Americans. What are the alternatives and hope for people with chronic pain? Dr. Sarah Whitman, Clinical Associate Professor at Rowan University, a Quaker and psychiatrist specializing in pain management, will address chronic pain, treatment options and how friends and family can help. Parishioner Beth Thorp, who lives with chronic pain, will speak about the challenges she faces and her suggestions for living well.

St. Alban's, Newtown Square , offers parish hall as "Alban's Garden" for party rental space, Friday nights and Saturdays.  Accommodates a maximum of 130 for sit-down or buffet meal. 2/15/18:  Christ Episcopal Church in Media , Pennsylvania and Trinity Episcopal Church in Swarthmore , Pennsylvania will alternate hosting an evening of Taize Worship from 7:15-8:00 p.m. on the third Thursday evening of every month. Trinity, Swarthmore will be hosting this month's service. This service, from the monastic Taize community in France, includes simple, beautiful chants, short Biblical passages, and time for silent, prayerful stillness. It is a wonderful experience of sitting in God's presence and exploring a deeper connection to God's peace. Christ Church will host the September service on the 21st. Come and find a time of beauty and stillness in the midst of a chaotic world.
