Today's Announcements      

  • Jostens will be at RBHS on February 11th,12th and 13th from 8:00 am-1:00 pm and from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm for class ring orders. 

All 11th and 12th grade students who have a 2nd semester AUT must renew their parent permission forms. If you did not attend the AUT briefing meeting held during your AUT on Monday or Tuesday, please stop by the main office to obtain the new paperwork. The form must be signed by a parent/guardian and return to the main office. Failure to complete this process promptly could result in the loss of AUT privileges until the proper paperwork is turn in. See Dr. Grant in the main  if you have any questions.
 
Just a reminder the Rock Bridge AUT Policy is as follows:

Seniors with AUT   - May leave the building (with parent permission form on file).  Must sign out in main office. Do not need to sign back in.
 
If the student has 1st or 4th period AUT, the student may change the schedule from AUT to Release Time*.
 

Juniors with AUT  - May leave the building (with parent permission form on file)  Must sign out in main office. Do not need to sign back in.
 
If the student has 1st or 4th period AUT, the student may change the schedule from AUT to Release Time*.


Sophomores with AUT   May move about the building. May not leave the building.
 

Freshman with Advisory   - May not leave the building. Freshman Advisory becomes a supervised AUT second semester.
 
 
*Release Time allows the student to arrive 2nd period (with 1st hour Release) or leave 4th period (with 4th hour Release). Must have parent permission form on file.  No need to sign in or out.

  • Photos of students grades 9-11 and faculty that are to be displayed in the yearbook have been posted in the window of the activity office. If you wish to change your name or your name appears wrong already please come to room 329 by January 17th. 
  • Ready, Set, GO!
    RBHS Students, Faculty and Staff are walking across America starting Monday, January 7th .  For every 10,000 steps, or 4 miles of walking, jogging or running you complete, come into the Activities Office and sign your name on a "shoe print:"  The shoe prints will be displayed in the tunnel to show our progress across the 50 States. Our journey starts in COMO; our first stop is KCMO on our way to California.  Let's see how far we can get by SPRING BREAK!
      
  • The RB Booster Club is selling bricks thru May 2019 to be added to the legacy plaza at the stadium.
    Don't miss out!  Print and mail your form today to cement your student's legacy at RB.  Bricks are open to ALL RB students, not just athletes.  Go Bruins!

  • RB Future Bruin Cheerleader clinic will be held on 1/26 in the Auxiliary gym from 9-12. Registration/check in begins at 8:30 am, final performances at 11:40.  Pre-registration requested.  $40 gets a t-shirt, fun routine to be performed at the Jeff city game on Tuesday 1/29, a craft, jumps and other activities.  All funds raised will help the RB competition team with expense for nationals in Orlando, FL in February!

 
  • R.B.H.S. Counselors presented the 2019 Salute to Seniors community scholarship information to Senior students through their English classes. Salute to Seniors scholarships are community scholarships set up specifically for Rock Bridge and/or Columbia area students!  Salute to Seniors scholarship information can be found on the R.B.H.S. Counseling Announcement
  • Juniors interested in applying for Girl's State: The application process is more selective this year.  Rock Bridge can only send THREE (3) students to the interview process, which will take place on Sunday afternoon, February 10th.  Interested candidates must submit the following in order to be considered:
    Resume (include GPA, extra-curricular activities, leadership, and community involvement)
    Short essay (1-2 paragraphs, typed, double spaced).  Prompt: Why do you want to attend Girl's State?  What do you hope to gain from this experience?
    Completed materials should be delivered in person to Mrs. Geyer, Counseling Office receptionist, no later than Friday Jan. 25th at 1 pm.
    The Counseling Department will make final selections of the three students who will be sent on to interview based on the above factors.  Students who are selected will be notified no later than Jan. 30th.

  • Leadership in Practice:   Current 9th graders  who exhibit solid character, scholarship and leadership in the school and community, or the potential to lead should consider applying for the MO Chamber Foundation's Leadership in Practice summer program!   Held on the campus of Westminster College in Fulton, the program engages students in profound ways by putting them through hands-on simulations and activities with experienced business and community leaders from around the state. For more information and the application visit: https://mochamber.com/lip/

  • Joyce Ivy Summer Scholars Program:
    The Summer Scholars program provides scholarships for talented female high school students to participate in a summer academic program at one of our partner programs - some of the most rigorous and selective colleges and universities in the country. Summer Scholars may use their scholarship to participate in certain summer academic programs at our partner colleges and universities. Courses are two-weeks or longer in length, and in some cases students are eligible to receive college credit.   • Look Around Boone Creative Contest 2018-2019
    1 in 5 people ages 14-18 years old experience or will experience a serious mental  health concern, yet stigma (negative perceptions and attitudes) towards experiencing and  seeking help for our mental well-being still exists in all ages of members of our  community. Look Around Boone is a public awareness campaign aiming to reduce that stigma.  FACE and Look Around Boone partners want to showcase your powerful artwork throughout  the County. Help us raise awareness about mental health creating powerful creative  materials! We are seeking students who are passionate about the goals of  Look Around to join and grow the movement, lead the conversation, and steer  change based on their experiences.

  • SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES for Seniors:

  •  Paxton Keeley Elementary School Scholarship is a $250 scholarship open to a Senior who attended Paxton Keeley for at least one full school year between Kindergarten and 5th grade.   • Don Day Agribusiness & Bioscience $1,000 Scholarship -
Applicants must be a graduating senior of a Boone County, MO public or private high school and plan to enter into an agricultural or bioscience related field.   • Columbia African American Association Memorial Scholarship - multiple awards given, minimum award $500. 
    The Columbia African American Association (CAAA) is committed to the development of America's youth; specifically targeting African American students living in the Columbia, Missouri area. Our children are the future leaders of America and we accept the challenge and responsibility of preparing them for success. Our top priority is to cultivate and develop responsible citizens and leaders.

  • Central Bank of Boone County Diversity Internship - Total Scholarship potential is $10,000/ year + a PAID Internship! Provides $1,250.00 per semester, or $2,500.00 per year, in scholarship funds for diversity scholarship/internship recipients.  The scholarship/internship is renewable for 4 years, or eight semesters based upon the recipient meeting stated academic and work performance goals.The objectives of the program are to provide financial assistance to students wishing to attend the University of Missouri--Columbia, Stephens College, Columbia College, Moberly Area Community College, William Woods, Westminster or other Mid-Missouri colleges; to provide a part-time internship to supplement educational opportunities and income, and to enhance the educational process; to make minority students aware of job opportunities at Central Bank of Boone County and within Central Bank company so they might be encouraged to seek employment with us  once they have obtained their undergraduate degree.  Application Deadline:  February 14, 2019 by 8:55 AM.  Applications should be submitted to Theresa Geyer in the Counseling Office.  Application and additional information is available on the Counseling -->  Scholarships webpage: https://www.cpsk12.org/domain/5783

RBHS Booster Announcements

Rock Bridge HIGH, Rock Bridge LOW, Rock Bridge ROCKS wherever they go!

The Bruin Booster Club promotes school spirit & provides programs & financial support to the athletic teams & student-athletes of Rock Bridge High School (RBHS).  Since 2003, the Booster Club has raised & allocated a significant amount of funds to benefit the Bruin athletic programs.  Those who purchase a Booster Club membership will receive a pass (or passes) to attend all home athletic contests in all seasons.  All money raised through membership dues stays at RBHS to support our student athletes, plus the pass can be less expensive than purchasing individual game tickets throughout a season.
