Faces of Faith this week: Judas Iscariot
Yes, you read that correctly: Judas Iscariot, the one who betrayed Jesus, is the face of faith we have this week. Now we may think Judas would fit more readily into a list of “Faces of Faithlessness” than faith. Yet, Judas was one of the few who accepted Jesus’ invitation to be a disciple. He was one who followed Jesus and spread the news of the kingdom with him. We judge Judas by his failure and his worst moment. If we were to be judged in like manner, how would we be remembered? Even in our worst moment, do we reside within Jesus’ ability to redeem?
Saving Lord, if You held our sins against us, who could stand? When we stray far from Your will, do not let us be far from Your help. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

SAY IT AIN'T SO! Vicar Amber's time at GLC is coming to a close and it's time for us to say goodbye! We'll be celebrating her time with us at all three services this weekend -- along with an ice cream social held after the 10:30 service -- where you can express your appreciation! We'll also have a basket available for cards and notes.

What’s next for Vicar Amber? Heya, this is Vicar Amber. After finishing up at GLC, I’ll be heading back to MN to await assignment to a synod. There is a new system in place that seems to favor candidates’ synod of origin for assignment (which for me is NWMN), but the needs of the wider church may require me to go elsewhere in the country. Once I have been assigned to a synod, I will be able to start interviewing with congregations within that synod. Then, once I am called to a congregation, I will be ordained. There is no fixed timeline for when I can expect to be ordained, but I trust that God is faithful and will continue to guide me in the time ahead, as I am sure God will continue to be faithful in guiding GLC. I will let you know when I am going to be ordained! May God bless and keep you all!
