GLORY AND HONOR

Psalm 30:2-3 says, “O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave [death sentence]. Thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.”

Psalm 30:11-12 says, “Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing. Thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness to the end [purpose] that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.”

I am eternally grateful to God for redeeming me [buying me back] from sin, death, the grave, and hell. That act of redemption cost Jesus everything, but he did it for love. It was his love for the Father and for all the souls given to him by the Father [including you and me]. It was love that sent Jesus to the cross.

I rejoice in His love and salvation. Without Jesus’ love, where would I be? “I will give thanks [and praise] unto Thee forever.”  Unto Jesus be all glory, laud, and honor. Glory unto God my Father, and to His chosen Son.

JESUS -OUR FIRM FOUNDATION

If you know anything about building, then you know a house is only as good as its foundation. The ground that it is built on must be prepared to support the house. It must be tamped down until the ground is solid under the house. This goes for a house built on a slab, and ones with basements. 

The earth under the foundation must be treated for termites so they do not invade the newly built home. (I had a friend that bought a new home here in Florida. The ground was not treated for termites, and the home was eaten up by termites only a few months after she moved in. The builder failed to inspect the ground before the foundation was laid. Needless to say, it was a nightmare for the new homeowner.)

Once the ground is treated, then the cornerstone is laid. This cornerstone determines where all the other parts of the house will be. It is “on the level” and guides the builder as he lays the foundation.  If the foundation is not solid, the house will not be level; you can be sure there will be problems.

There is a spiritual analogy that is comparable to the physical. First, 1 Corinthians 3:11 says, “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” No one but Jesus can be your foundation. No other religion can replace Jesus Christ. Nothing eternal can be built and stand unless it is built on Jesus Christ.  He is the source of strength that holds your life together.

Psalms 118:22 points to Jesus. It says, “The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.”  This prophetic psalm points to Mark 12:10 that says, “And have ye not read this scripture; the stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner.” 

You may try to build your life on something other than Jesus, the cornerstone, but it will fall. Jesus, the rock of our salvation anchors us from the storms. Never be ashamed that you have built your life on him. Others may mock you and try to persuade you to go the way of the world, but the way of the world will not stand against the storms that will come.

Be anchored in Christ, the chief cornerstone, because this firm foundation will not fail you. Yes, storms will come, but your house [life] will not fall because it is anchored in Christ.

PROPHETIC EXHORTATION

Sure you're tired. The spiritual battles have been intense. You want to quit. You feel like you cannot take any more "hits." That is when the Lord says, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." [Matthew 11:28-30] Yoke up with Jesus my friend, and let him carry the burden my friend. He is waiting for you to give it to him.

Thursday Thought For Today 

Do you fit into one of these categories?

Are you Broken  Busted  or a Believer?

We are or have been in all three of these categories. 

Broken because we are a broken vessel.

Busted because we have been caught in our sin.

Believer because we recognize that Jesus Christ is the ONLY One who can fix our broken state, forgive our sin and free us to live again! And that in turn leads us to believe that God loves His kids enough to mend us and forgive us. 

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”

PROPHETIC EXHORTATION

Now it’s past time to SHAKE the DUST of yesterday’s PAIN away from your HEART and off of your FEET; And then you KEEP right on moving FORWARDS and UPWARDS. Just remember that you DESERVE to be CELEBRATED; And NOT just TOLERATED. So CHANGE from those difficult LANES you’ve been in and move on over to Life’s SuperHighway. It’s there you can finally get to the place GOD has for you to be…And then you can do ALL He has purposed you to do.

A Foothold! HCC

         You give the Devil a foothold,

         So angry do you get.

         Get rid of bitterness that you carry.

         Change your heart, have no regrets.

         Let your Soul take flight to God,

         And speak to him in prayer.

         He will help and guide your ways,

         He loves you and He cares.

         Just know there’s forgiveness.

         What a gift this is.

         When you make mistakes in life,

         We all do, but Christ forgives.

         His death and resurrection,

         How he suffered on that Cross.

         It’s proof how much he loves us.

         Come to Christ, he saves the lost.
