Livestream Schedule Changes
For the season of Lent we've invited families to worship together at the 10:30 service. The children's message will move to the 10:30 hour so more children are available to participate. With this change, the 10:30 service will be livestreamed instead of the 9:00 service so that our online community can enjoy this new format, too.

THIS WEEK: We will livestream both the 9 am & 10:30 am services.
GOING FORWARD: We will only livestream the 10:30 am service.

Pastor Trudy's Weekend Message
Testing or temptation? I once read a book about youth ministry that used a term I've thought about ever since. The author said we often proclaim to our students a 'gospel of sin management'. Avoid these temptations and you're on the right path. The problem comes when you don't avoid temptations. Where is the path back to Jesus if it was only my goodness that mattered? Testing on the other hand is a way to check progress and a way to measure growth.  What if the point of the testing of Jesus in the wilderness is not so much—just be like Jesus and avoid temptations, but rather look how God is preparing His Son for His ministry? How might Jesus be testing you in preparation for yours?

God of the wilderness, we feel tested and tempted daily. Help us to trust what You may be preparing us for and to follow the way, to follow Jesus, back to You. In His name, Amen.

Sunday School Format Change
Beginning with the first Sunday of Lent—this Sunday—families are invited into worship together at 10:30 am. Children will be invited to come forward to hear the children's message and then head down to Fellowship Hall for the Glory Gathering and Sunday School.

FAMILY SERVING AT ST. ANDREW
Looking for a family friendly serving opportunity? Families with school-aged children are invited to come help the GLC St. Andrew work group on Friday, March 4 from 12-3 pm. It's a county-wide Institute Day so students are off of school! Please email Michelle if you would like to attend.
WONDERING...
Real questions from real people to learn more about faith
Should I give up something for Lent or should I take something on?  Let me ask you a question...what will help you to grow in your faith this Lent? Maybe it is taking on a daily prayer practice that is as simple as spending your first two minutes after waking up saying a prayer. Maybe it is packing your lunch every day instead of buying it. Saying something you are thankful for every time you go through a door. Maybe it is remembering to have grace for yourself in what can be a hard, hard world. What will help you wake up to your senses, the creation, to Jesus' presence in your daily life? Do that.

We'll be waking up to Faithfulness next Wednesday. GLC's Carol Wurtz will reflect on what it means to be faithful. Want to watch online? Visit genevalutheran.org/lent

A little about Carol: Born in Chicago, raised in Maywood, I have been a Lutheran all my life and a member of GLC for six years. I’ve been blessed with 3 children, 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. My most important life lesson is that striving to live a faithful life is a challenge and though I’m not always successful, it is a blessing.—Carol Wurtz

GLC FACES OF FAITH
All our stained glass tell a story! Martin Luther affixes his 95 theses to the door of the church—marking the beginning of our Lutheran story. You'll find this window at the back of the Sanctuary on the north side.
Hang out with other GLC guys in a casual setting for conversation and camaraderie. All guys are welcome! Come for the next meeting at Dam Bar in Geneva on March 21 @ 8 pm. Questions? Contact Jeff Cameron
Send pictures of how you are living your #generouslifeinChrist to Margo. Thank you!
