Join us for a special Yom Kippur Study Session October 12th at 2pm. The session will be shown at the Temple or you can join the Zoom session from home. Arguments for the Sake of Heaven: Maintaining Civility During Turbulent Times Election Season

Join us for a RAC-PA (Religious Action Center – PA Region) statewide Yom Kippur Afternoon Learning session led by RAC-PA clergy.

The Talmud teaches us that an "argument for the sake of heaven" will always endure. Healthy, debates, when two people engage in respectful, open-minded and curious dialogue, are the types of debates that our tradition deems to be "for the sake of heaven." We'll study texts and explore strategies that enable us to maintain friendships and relationships with those who think differently from us.

Join us on Zoom and please register using this link https://urj.tfaforms.net/901?id=701UG00000BmBXW

Please join our congregational family for "Break the Fast" following the blowing of the Yom Kippur shofar on Saturday, October 12th. All are welcome, compliments of the Harry and Ethel Silver and Ruth Blick Silver Fund.

"Blessings beyond the Binary brings together leading scholars to analyze and offer commentary on what scholar Josh Lambert calls “the most important work of Jewish culture of the century so far.” The book explores the show’s depiction of Jewish life, religion, and history, as well as Transparent’s scandals and criticisms and how it fits into and diverges from today’s transgender and queer politics.

The first book to focus on TransparentBlessings beyond the Binary offers a rich analysis of the groundbreaking series and its connections to contemporary queer, trans, and Jewish life."
