Lazarus House
Mission Impact Update:
Geneva Lutheran Church partnered with Lazarus House (a ministry serving people experiencing homelessness with emergency housing, meals and many other resources) by donating $1,000 to help organize their clothes closet and $10,000 to use in the area of highest need.

How you can join the mission:
  • Volunteer to help organize the clothes closet. Contact: Mary Klein
  • Volunteer to help prepare monthly meals (2nd Sunday). Contact: Mitzi Pearson
What an amazing gift you have given Lazarus House and the guests we serve. The clothes closet will really make a difference. You are a blessing.

Pastor Trudy's Weekend Message
The message this week: Mark 10:32-45
When a friend shares the worst news...a diagnosis, the end of their relationship, a struggle with addiction, etc., we don't usually know what to say, but come around to something like..."I'll be there, whatever you need." We never know what it will actually take to do it.  When Jesus' disciples hear (again) what will happen to him in Jerusalem it becomes clear that they are just like us...they don't understand what it will take to be there, whatever he needs.

Gracious God, we are bold in our desire to be there for others—especially in the difficult times. In Your son, You show us one that doesn't just accompany us, but leads the way. In Jesus' name, Amen.
GLC Kids!
Sunday School @ 10:15
Last week, our Sunday Schoolers attempted to go through the 'eye of a needle' while carrying a backpack of 'treasures.' Not easily done, but with God all things are possible!

Hope to see your kids this Sunday!
Worship Bulletins for Kids!
Click on a button to print a kids bulletin to engage your kids as you join in worship online, or just for fun before or after service!

WONDERING...
Real questions from real people to learn more about faith
What are the most faithful ways to 'be there' for someone having a hard time? The most important thing I've found is to actually 'be' there. To sit with someone and let them talk without trying to offer solutions. And often I pray the same way, with words like, 'God, we are having a hard time right now.' Or 'God we don't know what to ask for.' That's just being human. Then I think about the path that Jesus walked and know that even if I don't know what to do or ask for, or how to navigate this hard time, He will. That is the assurance that I land on.

We lift up in prayer
  • Dennis Kabela, Denise Martinez's dad, having surgery
  • Kim McKenna's cousin, Wendy
  • Our ministry partners
  • The people who continue to share the message of Jesus' love with us
  • Hospitality in welcoming the stirring of God's work in us
  • Each of us as we try to understand what God is calling us to do
