When we break the law, there is a penalty to be paid. It may be a fine, jail time, or a death penalty depending on the type and severity of the offense.
There is also a penalty for breaking God’s law, that is, sin. There were various types of sacrifices that God established in the Old Covenant. Blood sacrifices of certain animals were required as a covering for their offenses, their sins. Only blood can cover or pay for our sin
When Adam and Eve sinned in Eden, animals had to shed their blood to provide a covering for them. Under the New Covenant (Testament) we no longer need animal’s blood to cover us. Jesus offered the better sacrifice with his own innocent, pure and holy blood. It was not just a covering for our sin. It was for  .continue reading
