New Jersey Update
This afternoon, Governor Murphy announced an additional 195 positive COVID-19 cases, increasing the statewide total to 890,878. An additional 7 deaths were announced, increasing the statewide total to 23,674. There have been 9,318,817 COVID019 vaccination doses administered to NJ residents, with 4,649,450 residents now fully vaccinated.

On Wednesday, Governor Murphy acknowledged that Friday New Jersey will be celebrating Juneteenth as a State holiday for the first time. Juneteenth is celebrated to mark the end of slavery in our nation. Governor Murphy emphasized that we still must endeavor to do more to ensure equal access to all aspects of society including, education, health care, housing, jobs, and justice not just in our words, but also in our deeds.

On Monday, Governor Murphy signed an Executive Order ending the moratorium on utility shutoffs as of July 1st. There will be a grace period through December 31st. This grace period is for customers to enroll in payment assistant programs. The Governor announced there will be no one facing utility disconnection before December 31st. 

The Department of Health Commissioner, Judy Persichilli, announced the Department will be lifting the order on adult medical day healthcare centers so they can reopen. The Department will be sending these facilities guidance on reopening. This information will also be available on the Department of Health's website and will provided in a future update.
