A Message from Nate Dennison
CHS Head of School
Dear Concord Hill Families,
I am pleased to share that we had our final Board Meeting of the school year last night. The Board unanimously approved a tuition rebate plan for the 2020–2021 school year, providing a reduced tuition rate for any portion of the year that may need to be conducted at a distance through our Home Learning program. A communication with the details of the rebate plan is underway and will be shared at the beginning of next week.
We know there are questions about what school may look like moving forward and we are working diligently to plan for the most likely scenarios that we will face in the fall and throughout the year. Our COVID-19 Task Force has been meeting weekly to research and discuss various considerations. The team will continue to meet throughout the summer and inform decision making for the administration and the Board. At Concord Hill, we feel particularly well-positioned to welcome students back to school when schools are permitted to re-open. We believe that factors including our small student body, low student-to-teacher ratio, and number of classrooms allow us to spread out and create smaller classes, which will allow us to be one of the first to open. Opening safely for students, faculty, and staff will be of the utmost concern as we determine when and how it is safe to return to campus.
We continue to reflect on the Concord Hill Home Learning program as it is possible that portions of the 2020–21 school year may need to be spent at a distance. I am incredibly proud of what our teachers have been able to accomplish over the last two months and we are excited to take time over the summer to explore ways to further enhance the program.
Lastly, please the letter that I shared with the community on May 5 , reminding you of what you can count on when you choose Concord Hill.

A Message from Ellen Spiegel
Outgoing CHS Board Chair
Dear Concord Hill Families,

I hope everyone is staying safe and sane during these unprecedented times. As my own family navigates this "new normal" I continue to be grateful for the CHS community. The amazing faculty and staff who are working tirelessly day and night to educate our children via Zoom and keep some sort of normalcy for them. And to all the parents, many of whom I am lucky to call friends, who are stepping in to help our children adjust and keep up with their assignments as well as my least favorite role "cafeteria manager." We are all in this together and are CHS STRONG.
A special thank you to Nate and the entire administration team. Just completing his first year as Head of School, Nate has demonstrated incredible leadership the entire year but especially the past two months, literally adjusting how we operate overnight and navigating new challenges all while remaining calm, thoughtful, and putting the students needs first. Thank you, Nate!
As Nate mentioned above, the CHS Board of Trustees held its final meeting of the year last night. Each May, the Board itself undergoes some transition. Shannon Diamant, Shelley Guiley, and Michele Remillard are stepping off the Board. Each has provided different contributions to the school through their service as Trustees. Their commitment has been invaluable and is sincerely appreciated.
My time as Board Chair is also ending. It has been my great privilege to serve as Board Chair for the past three years. It has been an important three years for CHS as we have gone through leadership transitions, survived the great flood of 2018, and now are in a new time dealing with the implications of COVID-19. Please accept my heartfelt thanks for all of the support that has been provided to me in this role, and I humbly hope I have lived up to your expectations and the leadership Concord Hill deserves. It truly has been an honor.
It is with great pleasure that I report the Board of Trustees unanimously elected Sean Shannon to serve as the next Chair. Sean is a current Trustee, CHS Parent, CHS Alumni Parent, former CHS Annual Fund Chair, and supporter of the school in countless other ways along with his wife Rachael. Outside of Concord Hill, after a career in banking, he has held a variety of positions at other nonprofit organizations. Sean’s dedication to Concord Hill and qualifications for the Chair role are matched only by his personal attributes. He is intelligent, strategic, caring, kind, and thoughtful, all traits that I know will benefit him and Concord Hill as he meets and works with those of you who don't already know him.
Lastly, we also elected and welcomed the following individuals as Trustees to the Board. They all bring an outstanding combination of skills, experiences, and perspectives. Welcome Jamie Marcus, mom of Holden (rising K) and Halston (rising PP), Kathie Legg, mom of Nora (rising 2nd), and Coco (rising PP), and Kristen Sokol, mom of Oliver (rising 1st) and Sebastian (rising PP).
Thank you again for the opportunity to serve Concord Hill and I wish you all the best in these uncertain times.

We are truly fortunate that we had so many opportunities throughout the school year to capture special moments at CHS, both on-campus and off. Due to the unforeseen cancelation of many of our annual traditions, however, we need your help to be sure this is our best book yet. Please use the below link to load photos of your CHS student, and thank you in advance for your cooperation!
