Last Saturday’s wine dinner was absolutely fantastic! Who would’ve thought that tuna could pair so wonderfully with filet mignon on a single plate? This weekend, don’t miss out on the cooking class with Chef Matt and his talented team. Join us to uncover all of his culinary secrets!
We’re also excited to share that we’re off to one of our best boat sales years ever! Things are moving quickly—trades are coming in, and the weather is warming up! There's no better way to create wonderful memories with family and friends than to be on the lake.
Looking ahead to May, it's packed with exciting events: horse racing, delicious Mexican cuisine, and the opening of the cabana for Mother's Day weekend! And let’s not forget about Memorial Day weekend, one of the big three celebrations! I hope you’re ready for all the fun ahead! See you soon!
Cheers,
Tom

Hello Members,
It was a wonderful weekend! Our spring wine dinner was truly amazing, and Chef knocked it out of the park once again.
As we begin gearing up for summer, we're excited for everything that's ahead and can't wait to share what's in store with you.
Our weekly lineup of musicians has added a fantastic touch to the main dining room, creating the perfect ambiance for a relaxing evening. Chef and his culinary team continue to craft exceptional dishes for you to enjoy while you unwind and sip on your favorite cocktail.
Our Sunday Brunch continues to be the best around, offering the perfect opportunity to wind down your weekend while enjoying your favorite brunch classics. And don't forget- our $3 mimosas and bloody marys are a perfect pairing to your Sunday brunch.
We look forward to seeing you at the club!

We recently hosted another outstanding wine dinner that truly delighted everyone in attendance. The evening featured a thoughtfully curated menu of delicious dishes, each course expertly paired with exceptional wines to highlight flavors and elevate the dining experience. The atmosphere was warm and lively as friends gathered to enjoy an unforgettable night of culinary exploration and camaraderie.
Looking ahead, the excitement continues this coming week with our very first cooking class of the year! Participants will learn to prepare a variety of vibrant, Mexican cookout-themed dishes and creative cocktails. These recipes are designed to impress, whether you're hosting a summer gathering or simply want to expand your culinary repertoire. If you missed out on securing a spot for this class, don’t worry—there will be another opportunity in the fall to join in the fun and learn new skills.
Let’s talk about our enticing specials this week. In the main dining room, our featured dish is a vibrant Cajun steelhead trout. This entrée showcases a perfectly blackened, skin-on steelhead trout, served atop a colorful medley of asparagus succotash, all finished with a decadent she crab cream sauce. The combination of sweet, flaky trout with the luxurious, velvety crab sauce and the savory, vegetable-packed succotash creates a harmonious, restaurant-worthy plate that is as visually appealing as it is delicious.
Over at Hookers, we’re offering a hearty chicken-fried steak sandwich. Each bite features a tender, juicy beef cutlet, hand-breaded and fried to golden perfection, then layered with crisp lettuce, ripe tomato slices, and a generous spread of creamy mayonnaise. The sandwich is nestled on a freshly baked ciabatta bun and comes with your choice of side, making it a comforting and satisfying option for lunch or dinner.
We are well on our way into the season, and we will be at full roar here before we know it. Keep an eye out for all the fun new menu changes coming up soon and for upcoming events. I look forward to seeing everyone this weekend and sharing in all the excitement here at the club.
Till the Next Bite
Cheff Matt

The weather is going to be great this weekend! The cannon fires at 5 o’clock to start the party until 7, and after that it’s Kelsey’s Karaoke.
We’ll have NBA, NASCAR, and PGA all weekend, plus steak and lobster Sunday.
So, we’ll see you at the place “where all our friends are Hookers.”

Spring Is Here
Remember to schedule your summerization in time to run your boat before you have a house full of guests and discover issues. Please schedule any repairs at least two weeks in advance to help ensure everything is completed before your guests arrive.
Reminders:
- We began Saturday hours on April 4th
- Service will be open 7 days a week starting May 23rd
With springtime weather, there is always a possibility of flooding and high winds. When the lake rises due to excessive rain, it brings in a lot of debris. Floating debris such as small logs, limbs, and other obstructions can damage your prop and lower unit—and repairs can be expensive.
Be aware of waterlogged debris just below the surface. What may appear to be small debris could actually be much larger. Don’t take any chances—avoid debris altogether if possible. At the very least, slow down to idle speed to reduce the risk of damage.
Driving through debris can damage props and lower units. Even small debris can puncture tubes when in tow or cause injury to riders. Always check your slip before lowering your boat, as flooding can carry debris into your area.
Be safe and enjoy your boating season.

If you have questions or need technical assistance, give us a call—we’re happy to help however we can. For best communication, please send us an email so everything is in writing (unless it’s urgent, then please call). As always, thank you for another great season on beautiful Grand Lake.
SERVICE IS OPEN 6 DAYS A WEEK

Saturday - 8 am to 5 pm

How's your upholstery looking these days? We offer different answers to that question.
If you have one of our brands of boats and it is within 7 years old, we can likely get a full replacement seat or just the outer cover directly from the manufacturer. If it does not fall within those guidelines, we work with several local companies that can repair or replace individual seats or full replacement interiors. Large projects are typically scheduled during the off-season, but it's never too early to start thinking about it. If the exact vinyl is no longer available, we have options for that too.
If you have just a small puncture or tear, we work with a team of facilities in our area that can come to your boat for a repair on-site.
Call our Service Department and we'll help guide you through the process.

MORE FRIDAY FUN WITH THE CANNON
Friday’s cannoneer was Mark DeLozier—and what a fitting choice.
Mark and Susan are longtime members of the yacht club who embody the very best of Cherokee. Their support isn’t occasional—it’s constant, wholehearted, and often behind the scenes. Around here, it’s well known that if there’s a need, the DeLoziers won’t be the ones saying “no”—they’ll be the first ones asking, “How can we help?”
From Ketchum Public Schools to the local food bank, to Cleora Community Church and beyond, Mark and Susan show up, roll up their sleeves, and get to work.
Their impact reaches even further through their leadership in supporting the Grand Lake Regional Airport. By organizing and hosting the annual Napa Nites event in their hangar, they’ve helped create a premier social gathering that does more than bring people together—it raises critical matching funds that make significant FAA improvement projects possible.
Simply put, it’s hard to find anyone east of I-35 who doesn’t know—and appreciate—the DeLoziers.
Thank you, Mark and Susan, for all that you do.

ARTEMIS II
It was a blast of fresh air to be able to watch and enjoy the great success of Artemis II and the USA’s return to space travel. Simply a huge success.
Not only was this a huge success for NASA, but it was also a very complicated mission with a million parts and pieces—and it came off without a hitch. Due to modern technology, we were able to almost ride along with the astronauts, with reports from inside the capsule, including being able to follow the crew through the tricky re-entry to splashdown. I watched every minute of it, all the way to the astronauts getting on the ship.
An amazing step in the USA returning to space travel, with a path toward establishing a permanent base on the Moon and eventually going to Mars.
There was no question about the bonding between the crew members. I think this will also carry on across the country. After a 50-year lull in space travel, we have returned with such a successful mission. Can’t wait to watch it unfold going forward. Just wish I could go along!
I can still vividly remember listening to the radio with my fellow 6th graders, hearing about John Glenn’s first three-orbit mission around the Earth. I hope we can put a statue of him on the Moon!

NBA PLAYOFFS BEGIN • SATURDAY, MAY 18
Thunder play Sunday at 2:30 PM
The OKC Thunder had the best record in the NBA this year. They will begin their playoff run on Sunday. They had a very successful season—finishing first and with the most wins.
The game will be on at Hookers. My best wishes for their success. It’s pretty apparent that Oklahoma City has embraced the Thunder!
