This week Dottie's guests are former United States Senator and Ambassador Bob Krueger and his wife Kathleen Krueger, Mayor Pro-tem of New Braunfels.

Ambassador Bob Krueger is a former United States Senator from Texas, who also served in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is the former Vice-Provost and Dean of Trinity College of Arts and Sciences at Duke University. He served under President Carter as Ambassador-at-large and Coordinator for Mexican Affairs. He served the Clinton Administration in Africa as U.S. Ambassador to Burundi, U.S. Ambassador to Botswana and as Special Envoy of the Secretary of State to the Southern African Development Community.

Due to his outspokenness against genocide and oppression, Ambassador Krueger's convoy was attacked in Burundi, in which two people were killed and several wounded. He has been a tireless advocate for justice and democracy around the world.

KathleenTobin Krueger's humanitarian and civic involvement spans the globe. In Botswana, Africa she served on the board of an international children's charity and was President of the Diplomatic Women's Association. With the International Red Cross, she assisted the San People in the Kalahari Desert and joined Habitat for Humanity in building homes in remote African villages. She testified before Texas House and U.S. Senate committees and appeared on numerous national television programs, including the Oprah Winfrey Show and Larry King Live, as an advocate for tougher anti-stalking laws to protect victims. She currently serves as the Mayor Pro-tem of New Braunfels, Texas.
