From Alexis Posnanski,
Director of Stewardship and Giving

I have seen The Church of St. Michael & St. George’s mission to live Christ’s life into the world being accomplished since my arrival. However, it has never been more on display then the past few weeks. It has been said, that how a person or organization reacts to a crisis, is the best indication of who they are. If true, the community of The Church of St. Michael & St. George is even more amazing than could be predicted. The parish community has mobilized to support one another focusing on serving and caring.

Our commitment to serve and care for each other requires resources; time, treasure and talent. The response of our membership who are calling on parishioners, running errands for those who can’t, and providing any other type of support to those in need is awesome. We give a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of you who have continued to give your time, talent and treasures.

Some have asked about the staff of the CSMSG, thank you for your concern. As it stands today, Andrew has instructed that the entire staff will continue to receive their compensation while the church is shuttered. The staff work that can continue will continue from home. Services will continue to be taped and streamed to all who tune in. So, if you need anything please reach out to the clergy and staff as necessary.

A final thought. It is clear that many parishioners may be facing financial challenges. Please be aware of the availability of the Pat Johnson Assistance Fund. This emergency fund was set up to assist parishioners who need financial support in times of need. So, if you are facing financial hardships and would benefit from monetary support, please reach out to a priest with your request and rest assured your request will remain confidential. CSMSG is here for you. Do not hesitate to seek the help you need. We are blessed to have this opportunity due to the generosity of Pat Johnson.

For those members who would like to provide financial assistance to those in need, please know you are welcome to make a contribution to the Pat Johnson Assistance Fund. Please click on the “Give Now” button below and follow the prompts to make a donation. The Pat Johnson Assistance is the second fund listed in the drop-down box. Or if you choose to mail in a check to the Church, please write “Pat Johnson Assistance Fund” in the memo line. We are also happy to facilitate any contributions to your pledge or any other purpose to which you want to contribute. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me at aposnanski@csmsg.org if you have any questions.

Please continue to pray for the clergy/staff/sextons at CSMSG but also for all the congregation as every single member is experiencing their own hardships, anxieties and stressors. THANK YOU for your continued generosity and investment in CSMSG! I am grateful for each of you and am thankful to be part of a wonderful community!

Alexis
