JUST FOR FUN...
There are 3 kinds of people in this world....
Thursday was a FULL DAY!
Thank you Rotary!
Yesterday morning, Cindy Nolan and I accepted a $5,000 donation from the Lakeville Rotary for our Lakeville Works program. This money will go towards our mission of filling our workforce pipeline here in Lakeville. This is being done through partnerships with Lakeville Area Schools and the City of Lakeville in a variety of ways, including marketing, exposure and skill development and recruitment & retention initiatives.
Bon Voyage Alyssa!
Alyssa Arnold, our "high school" student employee is now Alyssa Arnold, our U of M student employee! Yesterday was her last official day in the office. She will continue to work for the Chamber, as our LakevilleWorks.org coordinator, but will now be doing it remotely from campus! As she continues to reach out and help you with your current job postings, make sure to ask her how things are going in Gopher Country!
Patio Power Hour!
Mother Nature was in our corner last night for PPH! What a gorgeous evening. And a huge thank you to B52's for being one of our amazing hosts for our summer Patio Power Hour series! If you have not tried the bacon wrapped cheese curds, they are a MUST. We only have a couple left, watch the newsletter next month for information on the September location!

By the way, B52 was the place to be for lunch yesterday! Not only did I see nearly a dozen Chamber members there, it seemed like a lot of us had the steak salad - which I highly recommend! So delicious and perfect lunch portion size. Mark, did you read this??
Welcome to the new Just for Kix!
Just for Kix has had quite the year practicing in hallways, while waiting for their new space at Juniper Commons to be ready. Last night Mayor Anderson, a couple Chamber Ambassadors and I got to help welcome them to their beautiful new space. There is a rumor that I tried hula hooping, thankfully there is no evidence.
I love this town!
There was no better way to cap off a great day of celebrating business success in Lakeville than walking through Antler's Park last night while the Lakeville Community Band played for their summer concert series. They had a great crowd and the music was the perfect compliment for a gorgeous summer evening. Man I love living in this town!

This annual tournament raises money for education in TWO ways: (1) the money raised from bowling/sponsorships goes into our Business in Education fund for teacher appreciation breakfasts and summer camp scholarships and (2) the money raised through the raffle raises money for the Chamber Foundation grant program which awards grants to programs that impact a large number of students in our Lakeville area schools.

Come learn the benefits of hunting to our local Lakeville economy.
Hunting Works for Minnesota’s co-chair Bruce Nustad, President of the Minnesota Retailers Association, will be in Lakeville for a presentation on Thursday, October 3 and we hope you can join us from 8:30-9:30 am at the Holiday Inn. Bruce will discuss the many benefits of hunting for our state and for our local Lakeville economy.
