Board Call for At-Large Director

The AIA Oregon Board of Directors is calling for applications for the position of At-Large Director for 2024-2025.

The At-large Director is an AIA Oregon Board position representing all members of the State-wide Chapter. Together with other Board members, the At-large Director provides leadership with oversight of the AIA Oregon Strategic Plan, annual operating budget, and fulfillment of AIA Oregon’s mission to serve and support its members.

Volunteers Needed!

NOMA PDX is currently looking for dedicated individuals in the Portland Metro area to volunteer for the 2023 NOMA National Conference, held October 11th through 15th. With the theme of Building Bridges: Towards Just and Joyful Futures, NOMA PDX will have the honor of hosting this five-day event where 1200+ minority architects, emerging professionals, students, and allied professionals from across the country will gather for captivating conversations, enriching events, and to celebrate diversity in architecture.

With a variety of activities, such as the legacy project, student design competition, 60+ seminars and 3 offsite events, we are looking for up to 200 volunteers to help the conference run seamlessly. 2023 APT Annual Conference

Oct 9-14 | Sheraton Grand Seattle | 106 total CE Available

The Association for Preservation Technology 2023 Annual Conference will be in Seattle in October. This conference will be attended by architects and other consultants and contractors associated with the preservation industry from both the east and west coasts, as well as Canada.

There will be a total of 106 CEs available, with 96.5 of those hours being HSW. Individual workshops are open for attendance – even if you can’t attend the entire conference. All-day workshops will take place Mon, Oct 10 and Tues, Oct 11. See the conference schedule for topics and places.

This year’s College of Fellows keynote speaker is the renowned Yasmeen Lari – an internationally recognized architect, social justice leader, and winner of the RIBA 2023 Gold medal.

Architects Without Borders Volunteer Opportunity

Seeking Lead Designer

AWB-Oregon is seeking a volunteer to join our design team for the expanding Withergreen Foundation school campus near Monrovia, Liberia. Expert Revit skills are essential for this position.

The project involves completing design development for a three-story building with two classroom levels and two upper-level apartments, the remodel of an existing classroom building, and addressing site infrastructure improvements.

Since 2001, AFO has partnered with The Van Evera and Janet M. Bailey Fund of Oregon Community Foundation in awarding the $25,000 annual Van Evera Bailey Fellowship to advance the professional development of design and building professionals and encourage greater contributions to their profession and community.

The fellowship is available to women who are mid-career and looking to expand upon their work and professional development.
