Hi everyone,
Last Sunday I spoke about lighting up the world with prayer, in the Thy Kingdom Come program. It runs from Ascension (May 26) to Pentecost (June 5). Only 11 days! We will ask the Holy Spirit to descend once again upon our fractured world as it did at Pentecost.
On Sunday I asked that you pick 5 people to pray for. They could be people who need to find Christ, people who struggle with faith, or health, or perhaps a short supply of life's necessities. It could be family, friends, neighbours, or the leaders of Russia.
As part of our worship this coming Sunday, we will commission those who will be taking part in this prayer event.
There will be daily videos from the Archbishop of Canterbury and a prayer journal from him.
I will be sending out a simple daily prayer format for those who like more structure.
Imagine the power of millions of people all over the world all praying for peace in the Ukraine?
So let's do this together. Let's bring the power of prayer into our lives and into our church.
We begin this coming Sunday with an introduction by the Archbishop of York.
