January 2026 UPDATES

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear TiE DC Members and Friends,

As we step into 2026, I am both honored and energized to serve as President of TiE DC at a time when connection, collaboration, and courageous entrepreneurship matter more than ever.

TiE has always been about people and entrepreneurs who take risks, mentors who give back, and leaders who believe that success is most meaningful when it is shared. Here in the National Capital Region, we have a rare advantage: the ability to connect innovation with policy, capital with purpose, and local ambition with global opportunity. My vision for TiE DC is to intentionally activate that advantage for every member.

In the year ahead, our focus is simple and deliberate: to strengthen meaningful connections that lead to real outcomes. We will facilitate meeting new people and forge partnerships with other charter members, bring founders closer to experienced mentors, investors to innovation, and ideas to markets. We will create spaces where conversations turn into collaborations and where trust becomes the foundation for growth.

But vision only becomes reality when a community moves together.

TiE DC will continue to be a place where members feel welcomed, supported, and challenged a place where giving forward is not just encouraged, but expected. Whether you are an entrepreneur, intrapreneur, or a seasoned leader, your experience, insight, and engagement are what make this community powerful.

Thank you for being part of TiE DC’s journey. I invite you to lean in, show up, and help us build what’s next together.

UPCOMING EVENTS & COMMITTEE HIGHLIGHTS

JOIN US ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 18TH AT LUCKY DANGER IN WASHINGTON DC

TiE DC is pleased to host a charter member–exclusive experience at Lucky Danger, a celebrated DC restaurant led by its visionary chef and owner. Lucky Danger, debuting as the highest ranked (#21) new restaurant in Washingtonian’s 100 Very Best Restaurants 2026, features the only public Mahjong bar in Washington, DC and an overproof whiskey bar.

This invitation only gathering is extended exclusively to TiE DC Charter Members, along with select sponsors and prospective charter members, for an intimate evening of connection and inspiration. The program will feature curated storytelling from the owner, centered on vision, purpose, and passion, offering a rare look into the entrepreneurial journey behind building a standout and top ranked Washingtonian’s highly popular restaurants.

This event reflects a core belief shared across TiE Global’s network of 18,000+ members spanning 60+ chapters worldwide: entrepreneurship transcends industries, borders, and traditional definitions. From technology and government contracting to food and hospitality, the entrepreneurial mindset unites entrepreneurs across every sector.

This evening reflects the power of TiE Global’s cross-industry, cross-border ecosystem, where lessons from a restaurant kitchen can be just as impactful as those from a boardroom or startup accelerator. It’s a reminder that innovation and leadership take many forms—and TiE DC is proud to celebrate them all.

In true TiE spirit, the evening will also include fun raffles and unique surprises, adding a celebratory touch to a thoughtfully curated experience.

Join us on February 18 at 6:30 PM for a memorable evening that celebrates entrepreneurship in all its forms: local in flavor, global in perspective.
