Summer Concert Series
Fill the Seats
Help Us Fill the Seats This Summer — It's Free!
Summer is almost here, and Tidewater Winds has an incredible lineup of free concerts planned across Hampton Roads — but a great concert is only as good as its crowd. We need YOU to help spread the word!
This summer, in honor of America's 250th anniversary, Tidewater Winds is presenting a full Summer Concert Series celebrating America's history, freedoms, military, and the music that makes our nation unique. Tidewater Winds' Performances are happening throughout June, July, and August at venues across the region — from the Virginia Beach Oceanfront to Norfolk and Chesapeake — and every single one is free to attend.
The series kicks off on July 4th with the "Red, White, and Blue" Concert at the VA Beach Oceanfront (24th St.), complete with fireworks. From there, the band performs "A Declaration for Independence" across three venues July 12–14, followed by "1776 America's Revolution" the week of July 19–21. The Big Band takes center stage July 26–28 with "Our Voice: The Great American Songbook". The 17th Street Stage series at the Oceanfront continues the summer festivities through August.
A special note, we celebrate with our partners, The Virginia Stage Company, for one concert only at the Wells Theatre with a ticketed indoor, air-conditioned concert, featuring The Big Band, with resident guest vocalists Frank Cubillo and Danielle Roby, on July 11th. Tickets available through VA Stage https://www.vastage.org/blog/2026/3/20/jazz-at-the-wells-presents-an-evening-with-the-tidewater-winds-jazz-big-band.
A free and very special evening at 17th Street Stage at the Beach on August 13th, celebrates with our partners, Zeiders American Dream Theatre, through our production of Holidivas. Tidewater Winds brings the Divas back to sing on the summer stage: Melissa Cartwright, Robyn Riddick, Charity Robinson, and Kobie Smith. Join us for a romantic evening with songs of love.
How You Can Help Fill the Seats?
The concerts are free, so the only thing standing between a neighbor and a wonderful summer night of live music is simply knowing about it. Here's how you can make a difference:
- Share the schedule on your social media pages and neighborhood groups
- Tell your coworkers, church, and civic groups — these concerts are perfect for all ages and families
- Bring a lawn chair and a friend for outdoor concerts; the more the merrier!
- Volunteer to help at events by signing up at tidewaterwinds.org
Live music thrives on community, and Tidewater Winds has given Hampton Roads decades of incredible performances at no cost. This summer, let's give back by making sure every concert feels like the joyful celebration of music that it is.
