Two Weeks Until 902

Spring is approaching quickly, and with it, our 902nd Stated Meeting. On Thursday, March 14, we will convene at Faith Presbyterian Church for a hybrid meeting of Presbytery, and we hope to enjoy your company.

Doors will open at 9:30 am for morning coffee and reception. We’ll get started at 10 and conclude with lunch together around noon. (have you ordered your meal?) The meeting itself will include a time for devotions as well as business, including several candidate examinations, commission updates, and a manual change.

As usual, a full docket and meeting papers will be available beforehand on our website, where you can register in advance. (Please register on Zoom, even if you plan to attend in-person)

The Clerk's Corner

A great big THANK YOU to all clerks of session for completing the annual statistical report. 61 out of 63 churches entered their information by the deadline! That is a phenomenal accomplishment.

As you know, this data helps the national church understand membership and demographic trends. It also provides helpful insights to aid the presbytery in determining how best to support, challenge and equip our congregations. Stay tuned for a summary report, which I will send in early March.

One Book, One Presbytery

Everyone is invited to the first of six online discussions exploring the Color of Law, by Richard Rothstein, on Monday, April 8th, from 6:30 – 8:00 pm.

The inaugural session will provide an introduction and overview, and explore Chapter 1 with guest speaker Corey Henderson, a doctor of public health. His research is rooted in social and behavioral sciences with an emphasis on historical trauma’s influence on the health of African Americans. Dr. Henderson has a background in information technology, qualitative research, health policy, and public health. He believes that healing is possible for every human being that acknowledges injury. Inasmuch as healing is a process, it is a process to restore health—complete and holistic.

Registration is Open! Sponsored by the Presbytery of Baltimore Dismantling Racism Team and In the Loop Ministry Group. (Full participation in the program will meet the Dismantling Racism training requirement.)
