COVID-19 and your community
As questions and concerns surrounding Maryland’s vaccination progress dominate the news, most of us who know people included in its initial implementation phases are eager for answers. Although specifics for access across our state continue to take shape, there is some general information coming right out of Baltimore that is worth sharing widely.
Dr. Anthony Fauci joined the University of MD last Friday for an honest, open dialogue about faith, science, and trust. It was very informative, underscoring the importance of community education.
A simple, brief explanation of how the vaccine works, and common myths dispelled.

"Rise Against Hunger"
The eleven churches of the Susquehanna Ministry Group invite you to join them as they work together to feed 10,000 people on February 27th.

“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
Those words from Jesus are the driving force behind the Susquehanna Parish event at Grove Presbyterian in Aberdeen, MD. Parish members will come together to package meals as part of the Rise Against Hunger (RAH) program. The cost to provide a meal for a person is only 35 cents per day.

After packaging, the Rise Against Hunger organization will ship the meals to a needy country to primarily be used as lunches for students attending their partner schools. Sometimes, this is the only meal these students receive each day. The goal of RAH is to wipe out worldwide hunger by the year 2030.

Because of COVID concerns, the packaging will occur in shifts of 1.5 hours each. Sanitizing will occur after each shift.

Anyone who would like to volunteer to work a shift, or make a donation towards the effort, can visit the RAH event webpage.
During worship at the March Presbytery Gathering we will remember the Ruling and Teaching elders who died in 2020. Please send to Stated Clerk Mary Gaut the names of all Ruling Elders in your congregation who died last year for inclusion in the list to be read during the worship time.
