Hot town, summer in the city
Despite the heat, these past weeks have been busy ones for The Center Baltimore, as groups have been assembling to participate in mission days. But instead of rambling on about their great accomplishments, we’d rather share a collection of photos from the past weekends:
Brown Memorial and Second Presbyterian Church members clear lots for dumpster day and distributes vaccination flyers in the Greenmount neighborhood of Baltimore
First Presbyterian of Annapolis youth group cleaning, gardening, and art making in East Baltimore
If you or your group is interested in planning or joining a mission day, email McKenna Lewellen of The Center.

Presbyterian Week of Action slated for August 23-29
The Week of Action, which made its debut last year amid a rash of racialized violence, returns late this August. Its goal is to lift up all marginalized groups. Black Lives Matter, as well as Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, have been the target of hatred and discrimination.

“Shades of Oppression, Resistance and Liberation” is the theme of this year’s event, which is being coordinated with the Presbyterian Mission Agency’s Bearing Witness team and other interested parties. The 2021 Week of Action web page is being built and will be updated regularly with new information, so check there often.
