The Docket has been posted for this week’s stated meeting. There’s some rather straightforward business to attend to, along with brief devotions, a couple examinations, and voting on changes to our Book of Order. For relevant documents, please visit our website.
It’s not too late to register for the online-only meeting. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

We were shocked and dismayed to learn from our local news Monday night that Light Street Presbyterian’s pride flag had been vandalized. Someone destroyed one of the two rainbow flags hanging on the front of the church. They scaled the wall and then cut it in half from top to bottom.
Although the man had a knife, witnesses say no one was harmed, as he was given a wide margin. The vandal eventually left in a nearby car, but not before repeatedly stating that he was destroying the flag because he objects to the church’s LGBTQ advocacy. The act was reported to the police as a hate crime, and the case is under further investigation by a very supportive Baltimore City Police Department.

Pastor Tim Hughes Williams responded to the incident, “To be honest, as sad as I was to see the damage, I was proud to have an opportunity to tell the story of who we are - a community that has been officially inclusive of the LGBTQ+ community since 1996. A church that sees antiracism and social justice advocacy as inherent to its mission. If more people receive that message because of this story, then I do believe God will use that for good.”
Of course, the flag will be replaced. Pastor Tim assures us that Light Street’s core convictions have not changed - and that there are people in our midst, both visible and invisible, who feel safer today because of that prophetic stance adopted by their church. The Presbytery of Baltimore stands with them.
