This Time, It's All Online.

Here's a friendly reminder that our next Stated Meeting of Presbytery is scheduled for Thursday, November 9th, at 10 am., via Zoom.

We'll have important business to discuss, and as usual, a complete docket and meeting papers will be published in advance of the meeting on our website. Meanwhile, registration has opened, so please let us know if you can join us.

We look forward to your participation and discernment as we approach the year's end, and chart a course together for 2024!

Synod of the Mid Atlantic 252nd Assembly Highlights

A summary of the most recent Mid-Atlantic Synod Assembly has been published for our convenience. Although a range of topics was discussed, there was a certain focus on the state of Black Church Health and Leadership.

One result was the launch of the Next Generation Initiative (NGI), designed to address the shortage of Black Presbyterian Clergy Leadership for churches, mid-councils, agencies, and beyond.

With a quarter of Black Churches in the PC(USA) located in the Mid-Atlantic Synod, the assembly undertook the gathering of essential data to support the development and implementation of the NGI. Collaboration plays a pivotal role in this initiative's success, with participants from various backgrounds and organizations contributing to its growth and direction.

College Scholarships for Those Discerning a Call to Ministry

Do you know someone considering a call to Christian ministry? Whether it’s a call to preaching, mission work, faith-based non-profit leadership, music ministry, youth ministry, chaplaincy... the Church needs young leaders who are prepared to guide us into the future.

Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA is the oldest continuously operating Methodist College in the U.S. and is committed to nurturing a new generation of church leaders. Their Bailey Scholars program awards a half-tuition scholarship for the first two years followed by a full tuition scholarship for a student’s final two years at R-MC.

Bailey Scholars also benefit from two internships (one for academic credit and one for a $3,000 stipend) and a weekly meeting with other pre-ministerial students. Bailey Scholars complete their B.A. or B.S. degree (their major/minor is their choice) at Randolph-Macon College and then they select an A.T.S. accredited seminary/theology school to pursue a Masters Degree that best suits their call and the requirements of their tradition/denomination. Students from all Christian traditions are welcome into the program. They’d love to meet any potential students you can recommend!
