From the Director of Family Ministry
S ummer is finally fully upon us. Schools are letting out, the rains are over, the weather has warmed, and here in Marin the grass is turning brown. It has roots which do not delve deeply. Many other plants and trees will remain green, and some even in bloom, for months to come.          Summer also contains a period of "Ordinary Time" in the church calendar. There is no Easter, Christmas, Lent or Advent during this time. Just ordinary time. The kind of time to seek to know and love God in an everyday, ordinary way. Something like what Etta James described as a "Sunday kind of love." God loves you and is waiting this Summer to deepen your roots of love for the dry times to come.  Welcome to St Stephen's.
     See you in church!

The flowers at the altar are given
to the glory of God and in celebration of all those who are completing classes this year.

Summer Sundays
Do you read music (even a little bit) and like to sing? Are you interested in singing with the choir, but are not able to commit to regular rehearsals during the year? Well, here's your chance! Every Sunday from 17th June until 5th August (Please note start date change from Sunday bulletins) , we will have a "pick-up" group singing in the loft. All you need to do is show up at 9a on Sundays that you are here and John Hirten will give you the music for that morning's service. Then you will join some of the choir members who will also be there to sing at the service. If you have questions, please call John at 415.435.4501 x17.
