Summer Choir
until 5th August

Do you read music (even a little bit) and like to sing? Are you interested in singing with the choir, but are not able to commit to regular rehearsals during the year? Well, here's your chance! Every Sunday from now until 5th August , we have a "pick-up" group singing in the loft.

All you need to do is arrive at 9a on Sundays that you are at church and John Hirten will give you the music for that morning's service. Then you will join some of the choir members who will also be there to sing at the service. If you have questions, please call John at 415.435.4501 x17.

St Stephen's formal choir returns to the loft on 26th August.
Gratitude Prayers

Are you thankful for a blessing or special days? Let the office know about your important moments, i.e. births, birthdays, completion of big goals or promotions, etc., and we can add it to the prayers.  Deadline is Tuesday afternoon as Sunday bulletins are printed early Thursday mornings. Let us know and we can add it to the Sunday prayers of thanksgiving.

From the Director of Family Ministry
A s in the epistle reading for this Sunday, we ought to try not to boast about ourselves. We can, however, boast about our students. To borrow a phrase, the kids are alright. In fact, they are more than alright. Spend a week in Taos building homes with them and try not to be impressed. They work hard, have big dreams, don't settle, feel deeply, and know how to have fun.
There is plenty to worry about these days but you can find reason to be optimistic about the coming generation. God works in mysterious ways and often through those the world thinks are too young or foolish. Don't be fooled, there is good to come from this young generation.  Welcome to St Stephen's.
                     See you in church!
                     David Hirsch
Cut Altar flowers
The flowers at the altar are given by
Martha & Bruce Auld
to the glory of God and in loving memory of their parents,
Marjorie & John Cogswell
and Maxine & Willis Auld,
and Bruce's late cousin, David Williams.
St Stephen's wishes all a safe and happy 4th of July holiday. Please note the office will be closed on Tuesday, 3rd July, and Wednesday 4th July

David Hirsch is in the pulpit this Sunday, 8th July.
Countdown to Camp Create  Camp Create 2018
~ 1+ week   |     July 16-20

The Camp Create Organizing Committee invites you to visit to see the camp - and your prayers and donations - in action.

July 16 through 20 - Visit the camp between 8:40 am and 3 pm

We invite you to take a personal tour of the studio classes, meet our inspiring teachers, and see the church grounds turned into a place where magic happens. Contact Pam Martori (pam@mccaskill.net or 415/272-0867) to arrange a convenient time or stop in at the Camp Office in the Library.

July 20 - Friday Evening Celebration

We invite you to join the campers, counselors and their families for a potluck dinner, followed by performances by the campers. The food is fabulous; the performances will melt your heart.

Dinner 6pm | Program 7pm | Closing Camp Song 7:45pm

If you would like to help underwrite this very special ministry of St. Stephen's, donations are still welcomed to meet the gap between the cost of creating a high quality experience for our campers and teen counselors and grants received.

  • Checks, indicating Camp Create in the memo line, can be mailed to St Stephen's at PO Box 97, Belvedere 94920.

Open Door Donations & Volunteering

OpenDoorKey The start of summer is a great time to begin with a renewed commitment to help those who are less fortunate and very much in need.
The Open Door Ministries of Sausalito has been serving the needs of the Anchor Out Community for almost 50 years. Christ Episcopal Church supports the Open Door Ministries both with their donations of gently used clothing, toiletries and the time of their volunteers, who staff the "Clothes Closet". Members of St. Stephen's have been donating clothing and toiletries for this ministry which have been greatly appreciated. Donations may be left in the St. Stephen's office for Deacon Alberta. There is a critical need for mens clothing, shoes and boots.
The Open Door needs volunteers. Could you prepare a main meal, salad or dessert? Would you like to volunteer in the clothes closet? Please contact me: Deacon.Alberta@StStephensChurch.org
This is a wonderful opportunity for our two congregations to work together and I hope to see you there!
