INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW:

HOW IS THE TRINITY RESTORATION GOING?

Hello Trinity Church,

It's me, again. Welcome to Week Two of Pam's Out of the Office time. Pam has been encouraging me to go over to the Trinity Church site and see for myself how everything is progressing and since I needed information for this week's newsletter it was a prime opportunity to do it! Before I get to the "Tour" let me share with you information from Trinity's Senior Warden, Ken Grieshaber.

Ken, who is also the leader of the TrinTeam, which is a group helping with the restoration and renovations of Trinity, explained that Phase 1 is about the essential restoration we need to do (foundations, support structure, etc). Based on receipt of the Phase 1 permit, that work is underway. Phase 2 is waiting on drawings for permit from Alloy 5, our architect. Their promise is to deliver them in July. Additionally, we’re thrilled to share that the Buckley Foundation has awarded Trinity a generous $500,000 grant to support the new elevator project! With this incredible contribution, we have now secured over 92% of the estimated $4.1 million total project cost. We remain hopeful that a settlement with the City of Bethlehem will help us close the remaining gap.

Now let's answer the question inquiring minds want to know as best as I can through my "camera lens" tour. Monday morning I stopped by to find two young gentlemen working on plastering the Nave. Keep them in your prayers during this heat wave! Below I have shared my "camera lens" tour with you.

This is the view of the nave from the front doors (pictured to the right). Don't worry the ceiling and wooden beams are still there behind all that wood and metal scaffolding! Below, you can see the hallway leading from the Nave to the offices and bathrooms. The next picture is the front doors at the top of the outdoor ramp access. The next two photos are taken from the hallway in front of the Parish Hall entrance doors. The first shows the men's restroom and the mailroom areas. The second photo shows the offices. As you can see there are walls that were taken down.

This group of pictures shows the offices, mine and the nursery, which was the former soup kitchen coordinator's office. The last picture shows the Parish Hall entrance.

Below you see Parish Hall and the old kitchen.

The second floor photos show the offices, the old library, which will be Pam's new office, the hallway from the door of the old library and the bathroom hallway.

The final photos capture the current state of the lower levels, affectionately referred to as the Undercroft area, Fellowship Hall and the Sunday School wing.

Thus concludes my "camera lens" tour of Trinity! I hope it has helped ease your inquiring minds to the perhaps slow but hopefully steady progress. We are grateful that reconstruction has started and we all pray to be back to Trinity soon!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Blessings,

Kay
