Tidings from Trinity, November 7, 2025

November 7, 2025---

The Stewardship theme this year is “Tell Out My Soul.” The Good News that fills our spirits with joy is about the abiding love and healing power that Jesus shares with us when we respond to his call to follow him.

“Tell out my soul, the greatness of the Lord!

Unnumbered blessings give my spirit voice.

Tender to me the promise of his word;

in God my Savior shall my heart rejoice.”

This song, Mary’s Song (Magnificat) is a New Testament echo of the psalmist’s song in Psalm 27:

“I will sing and make music to the Lord.” Those words are written on a cross that belonged to my parents and has been an inspiration for me to share my voice with others.

As we “sing and make music to the Lord,” may our gifts of time, talent and treasure remind us that “they who sing, pray twice.”

Trinity and beyond

There will be NO SECOND SUNDAY special gathering of gifts for NOVEMBER.

Instead, on November 21st, from 10 am - 12 noon, we will be gathering FROZEN turkeys in front of Trinity.

Many grocery stores give frozen turkeys free with "’points’ and I know that we often do not claim them, because we have other plans for Thanksgiving. If you have the opportunity to receive a free turkey, or if you can purchase one, we have a way to get them to needy Lehigh Valley residents.

You may bring them to Trinity during the hours noted. We will have people waiting to receive them - or CALL Marcie Lightwood at 484-767-2908 or Rick Weaver 610-533-7204 or another member of the Outreach Committee and we will pick up those turkeys - but only on November 21st early in the day - we have no means of keeping them safely frozen if we get them at other times.

We will take them to a turkey collection at Coca Cola Park, where they will be put into refrigerated trucks and distributed to many agencies throughout the Lehigh Valley. These will go to free dinner kitchens, like New Bethany, and to places where needy people can claim them for their own Thanksgiving feasts. Thanks so much!

There will be no Trinity Congregational Brunch at Borderline Restaurant in November, December or January.
