Worship on Sunday, December 3 at 9:30 a.m.

In-Person or Online

This Sunday is the first Sunday in Advent, a season that is, in part, all about waiting. We wait for December 25 to arrive, yes, but that calendar waiting is a chronological symbol for a deeper waiting…for the fulfillment of God’s promise to enter into creation in the birth of Jesus. On Sunday morning we will hear Jesus use vivid images to call us to keep alert and watch for the signs of God's breaking into the world with hope, peace, and love. Pastor Jeremy's message is called "Waiting for a Sign."

This Sunday, Sandy is back at the piano, Karen will serve as lector, the Sanctuary Choir will sing, and we will celebrate Communion. We hope you can join us -- in person or online -- for a meaningful time of worship together! Download the Sunday, December 3, 2023 worship bulletin here.

On Sunday, Childcare for children 5 and under is available starting at 9:15 a.m.

Reverse Advent Calendar

Typically an advent calendar has you open and take something out each day (like chocolate). A reverse Advent calendar asks you to give something back each day of the season. Thanks to the TUMC Youth, reverse Advent calendars are available in the lobby of the church! Or you can download a copy of the calendar with suggestions for each day’s giving item HERE.

Here's how it works: Each day you add an item to a bag and then on Christmas Eve bring the bag with you to the Christmas Eve service. (Can't make it to the Christmas Eve service? Then you are welcome to put it in the BHOB bin in the church lobby at any time.)

The items will be donated to the food pantry at Bethlehem House of Bread. Any amount of participation will help BHOB, so whether you do one day or all the days, your donations are appreciated! Thank you for supporting BHOB!

It's Not Too Late to Complete an Estimate of Giving for 2024!

Members and friends of TUMC are encouraged to complete an online estimate of giving form for 2024. This information is extremely helpful to our Finance Team as we make plans for the coming year.

Thank you for the many ways you already support the ministry of Tigard UMC! Together we will continue to connect with each other, nurture community, and collaborate with partners doing good work…all to the glory of God!
