VOICES FROM THE FIELD
Tiger King Threat Assessment

Many of us (40 million or so…) have spent some of our quarantine time watching the Netflix series Tiger King . As we completed our writing for the upcoming book, Assessing Threats in Student Writing and Social Media, it seemed like an excellent time to bring together our research and development of a new threat assessment system with a practical example many of us were familiar with from Netflix.

Caring from a Distance
The NaBITA subject matter experts have been hard at work creating innovative content to help those in the field who are being asked to shift their work into an online and distance-oriented approach.

We have created six online trainings to help manage crises over the phone or computer, conduct threat assessments from a distance, manage staff at home, adjust to the stress and anxiety of the pandemic, create innovative and engaging online classes and trainings, and offer case management interventions from afar.

The first program,  A Guide for Supervisors Working with Staff from Home , is available free of charge!
COVID-19 Updates for Regional Events
After careful consideration and in response to the Coronavirus pandemic, NaBITA has made the decision to reconfigure all in-person events through May 15, 2020 to an online format.

All events until this date will now be offered virtually, so attendees can still receive the training and certification as planned but without leaving home!
