Tiger News
Happy Friday,

It has been another great week at Christ the King Catholic School!

I think the middle school students would say today was their favorite day. This link says it all.

Please join me in keeping our middle school math teacher, Mrs. Curran, in your prayers. Today was the last day before her maternity leave. We are looking forward to celebrating her son's birth soon! I will be sharing information about her maternity leave sub in Monday's newsletter.

Thank you to everyone who filled out the eLearning Feedback form. 94% of respondents recommended that we either continue with eLearning days every time we have to close or continue with eLearning but limit the number of days. As a reminder, we will only use eLearning Days on days we have to close for inclement weather.

We will honor our 5th - 8th grade Trimester 2 Honor Roll recipients on Monday after Morning Assembly. I hope to see you there.

We are looking forward to starting our Lenten journey. I will share the specifics next week of how we will observe Lent.

Have a great weekend.

Peace,

Ed Seib
Principal

Tiger Trot is a fun event for the kids and our school, but it serves an important role in providing funds for various school initiatives. Our goal this year is to raise $10,000 which is more than we have ever raised! We have more programs to support including the following: (1) Chromebooks for ILEARN and general STEM use (2) The “Dream Big” Teacher Scholarship where teachers submit ideas for a big classroom learning projects (3) PTO initiatives throughout the entire year including class trips, teacher appreciation, and classroom grants.  Here  is what we have raised and how funds were used in the last 5 years. There will be a school-wide reward for hitting our overall $10k goal. Also, the classroom with the highest average amount raised per student will win a pizza party.

Online Donations:  Donations can also be made via the Orgs online payment site that is used for payments for Aftercare, Hot Lunch, etc. from now thru 3/28. Simply find Tiger Trot line, fill out the donation amount and note your child’s name, grade/classroom (ex: Jane Doe, 2B):   www.osvonlinegiving.com/4256/DirectDonate/52117

We are looking for event day volunteers.   Click here  to access Sign-up Genius to volunteer.

The PTO Needs You!
The PTO is grateful for the amazing volunteers and activity chairs who lead events and raise funds in support of our teachers, students and community. We have a few key open positions at this time. If you have ever thought about getting more involved, now is your chance! We are looking for a Co-Chair for Movie Nights, another parent/family to join the Kramers in planning the Tiger Trot, and a Co-Chair for the last-day-of-school ice cream social. If you are interested in joining the PTO by volunteering in one of these ways, please contact Natalie Sutton, PTO Vice President at  nataliemsutton@hotmail.com .
Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast  Rescheduled for March 20th
Our parents and volunteers play a vital role in the success of our school on a daily basis. The examples are plenty from opening doors at drop off, serving hot lunch, helping out in the classroom, being a room parent, running an after school club, coaching, etc.

We are humbled by your active support. As a token of our appreciation,  you are invited to the first annual Volunteer Appreciation Mass and Breakfast on March 20th.

We will be recognizing all of our volunteers at our 8:30 am Mass with breakfast to follow until 11:00. You are invited to come to any part of the celebration.  Please click here to let us know if you'll be attending by Friday, March 15th.

Safe and Sacred Reminder for all Volunteers
The Archdiocese has asked us to make sure that all adults who volunteer in the school (for field trips, playground duty, etc.) are trained and certified in Safe and Sacred. With field trips coming up soon, we wanted to remind anyone of this training.

If you have not done Safe and Sacred training, you can find it on the Archdiocese of Indianapolis website (or, click here -   https://safeandsacred-archindy.org/login/index.php ) You will need to either log in or create a new account, then watch the videos and answer the questions that go along with them. There is also a background check portion that you will be prompted to complete.

This process (especially the background check part) can take up to two weeks to be completed, so please start this training early!
