Tiger News
Happy Friday,

It has been another great week at Christ the King Catholic School.

Our 8th graders did an amazing job of leading during our annual May Crowning Mass. They are looking more like the Class of 2019 and less like 8th graders every day. Next week, they head to Washington, D.C. Please join me in praying for a safe trip.

Last night Mrs. Wenclewicz, Mrs. Rusbasan, and I had the privilege of welcoming our new school families to CKS at the New Parent Orientation Meeting. It was a large group! Thank you for the part that you have played in making this happen by promoting the school. We still need your help to make sure these new families feel welcome. Please check out a message sent by Father Todd this week about how you can be a mentor family and contact Mrs. Silvey if you are interested.

ILEARN continues next week for our 3rd-5th graders, and we will be starting an Environmental Challenge that requires your participation! Check out the details below.

Have a great weekend!

Peace,

Ed Seib

2019-2020 PTO Board Nominations Requested New
T he PTO Board is seeking volunteers for the positions of Vice President and Secretary next year. Natalie Sutton has served as VP and will step into the role of President. Michele Pettrone will continue as Treasurer, and Jennifer McKendry will join her in training for the Treasurer role the following year. Lauriale Cabrera will serve as Past President next year.

Overall, we are a small, laid back group of parents, who plan fundraisers and activities to make CKS a better place by supporting the teachers and encouraging parent involvement at the school. Both positions are asked to attend one monthly PTO Board meeting on a weeknight evening (schedule to be determined by Board members). The VP recruits room parents and trains for the future role of President. The Secretary takes minutes at monthly meetings and shares minutes for approval. We are excited to try some new formats with the PTO meetings next year and to continue and build upon the good work already being done.

If interested, please contact Natalie Sutton ( [email protected]   or 317-440-5261) by Monday, May 6th.

Mindset Minute
Marketing Minute
We have hosted two preschool field trips to the Saints Isidore & Maria Garden this Spring. Our middle school students have planned and implemented activities that allow are guest to interact with our garden and learn.

Next year we will offer even more options for area preschools. Schools can visit the garden in the Fall or the Spring and they can also visit the St. Patrick STEM Lab any time for some hands on activities. You can help spread the word by passing this flyer on to your child's current or former preschool. Preschools often confirm their field trips in advance so if you can send this out soon we can get them on our calendar. This is a great opportunity to market the school and for our older students to work on their leadership.
