Tiger News
Happy Friday,

It has been another great week at Christ the King Catholic School!

School accountability grades were released this week by the Indiana Department of Education, and we earned an A again ! This grade is a reflection of the students' achievement and growth on the ISTEP test. Congratulations to our students, parents, and staff! The staff and I are looking forward to collaborating with you to continue to Grow Innovative Leaders Guided by Catholic Values.

Our Community Night was a big success. Thank you for coming out and engaging with our prospective families. You truly helped show them what our school is all about. We met our goal of 100 students and will have back to back out of uniform days next week .

Registration for kindergarten and new students of any grade level for the 2019-2020 School Year is now open! If you have an incoming kindergarten student, you can share your intent to register with us by clicking here. Let me know if you have any questions.

Even though it is a two day week, we have a lot to look forward to. First, we will have the 1st Trimester Honor Roll Ceremony after Morning Assembly on Monday followed by the rescheduled 7th grade production of Alice and Wonderland. As a reminder, there is a dress rehearsal at 1:00 p.m. in addition to the 7:00 p.m. show! See you there.

During his homily this week, Father Todd told us Jesus wants us to be grateful year round, not just during this time of year. He gave us homework by asking us to think about five people we are thankful for and then let them know. I'd like to thank all of you for all your commitment to Christ the King. Your prayers, support, and service make this a wonderful place for the students, staff, and I to be everyday.

There will not be a Monday Minute or Tiger News next week. I hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving Break with their families!

Peace,

Ed Seib
Principal

TO JESUS CHRIST OUR SOV'REIGN KING
(A Prayer-Hymn)

Dear Jesus Christ our Lord,
As we look forward to your Feast Day as our King,
we offer You our praise, adoration, contrition and thanksgiving.
We humbly ask that you hear our petitions
as we pray for healing
for the Church, the world,
our country, our families and ourselves.
Also, please hear and grant the following personal
needs we now bring to you.
(Pause - 10 seconds …………………………….. )

Now, in Adoration, we pray:
To Jesus Christ our Sov'reign King!
Who is the world's salvation.
All praise and homage do we bring,
and thanks and adoration.
Your reign extend, O King benign,
to ev'ry land and nation.
For in your kingdom, Lord Divine,
alone do we find salvation.
To you and to Your Church, Great King,
we pledge our hearts’ oblation.
Until before Your throne we sing,
in endless jubilation:
Christ Jesus, Victor!
Christ Jesus, Ruler!
Christ Jesus, Lord and Redeemer!

We will need between 30 and 40 volunteers to serve the thousands of runners who will be stopping by, so sign up to work the water station at www.ctk-indy.org/tigerrunningclub .
Box Top Update
Congratulations to Mrs. Pickering's class for collecting and turning in the most Box Tops  For Education  during August-October Winning this competition earned 4A an extra recess within the next week.

The school earned $267.00 for the past 3 month period. This number could easily be increased by a little extra clipping from each family. Challenge your children to ask family members, neighbors, and friends to help them collect Box Tops and Tyson Labels for Education to help out their school.

This month there are hundreds of products featured that have Box Tops on them. Please click on the link below to see all the products available:

So as we approach the holiday season, keep your eyes out for eligible products and clip away for one of CKS's easiest fundraisers.

Thank you and Happy clipping!

Santa Shop Coming Soon!
One of the PTO’s biggest fund raisers is coming up soon after Thanksgiving! CKS’s Santa Shop will take place on December 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 9th.

On these days, your children will be able to shop for family Christmas presents during the school day and Sunday after mass from 11am – 1pm. Your child will come home with instructions on how they can participate in the Santa Shop.

This year you can purchase gift certificates in advance of the sale, which you can print off at home via  www.holidayshop.org/giftcert . This may be easier for our younger shoppers. We keep track of gift certificates! If they are misplaced, we will still have a record of the amount remaining so that no one loses any funds.

As always there is plenty of opportunity to help! We will have a SignUpGenius link available to sign up for shifts in the Shop Dec. 4 th , 5 th , 6 th , 7 th , and 9 th . Thank you in advance for your support and participation!

If you have any questions, please contact Stacie Gillen ( skrieg46032@yahoo.com ) or Kathy Rembusch ( krynard@yahoo.com ) with questions.

Sincerely,

Stacie Gillen & Kathy Rembusch
