SPC Trick or Treaters

St. Philip’s College (SPC) Spirit and Pride Student Organization volunteered for the Bowden Academy Trick or Treat campus event by escorting elementary students to different offices across the MLK campus and promoting a college-going culture.


SPC Students Earn Scholarships

St. Philip’s College (SPC) faculty and students attended San Antonio Hotel and Lodging Association’s 5th Annual Pineapple Awards at the Grand Hyatt on Nov. 3. Five THCA students -- Amanda Archambault, Megan Lipe, Zana Romero, Denise Kenoyer and Audrey Aguirre -- received the Pineapple Scholarship ($1,000 for full time enrollment and $500 for part time enrollment) to be used in Spring 2023. David Uminski was recognized as the Volunteer of the Year.

SPC Students Attend Cyber Conference in Vegas

St. Philip’s College (SPC) faculty member, Dr. Robert Jones attended the Trellix 'Xpand Live' Conference – held in Las Vegas in September. He was accompanied by four students -- Ellie Castillo, Marvin Delacruz, Jacob Lozano, and Isaiah Flores -- who attended sessions on a range of topics in the cybersecurity field.


SPC Students Compete in Cyber Competition

St. Philip’s College (SPC) students, Gabriela L. Garcia, Izaiah V. Medina, Miguel A. Villagomez, Candido R. Vizzuett, and Ellie Renee Castillo brought home a second-place finish for St. Philip’s College in the HP Future of Work Academy 2022 competition team challenge. Isaiah Flores competed on the upskilling challenge and placed 2nd. Faculty members, Caroline Mora and Dr. Robert Jones, supported students through the event.

SPC Hosts Dia de los Muertos Symposium

St. Philip’s College (SPC) Center for Learning Resources and Mexican American Studies program collaborated to host a collegewide Dia de Los Muertos Symposium on Nov. 2. The program included community altars, global perspectives on death and dying, and a procession of Aztec dancers.
