Resource Spotlight: Mitzvah Food Program
Greetings Tikvah!

The Mitzvah Food Project of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia is a local resource for those who are food insecure. This program started in 1996 "to alleviate hunger and malnutrition among at-risk families in the greater Philadelphia region". The Mitzvah Food Project's Choice Food Program allows clients to pick in advance what foods they need and a volunteer will pack a bag for them.
The Mitzvah Food Project has four choice pantry locations:

  • Elkins Park
  • Bensalem
  • Bala Cynwyd
  • KleinLife (Philadelphia)

Virtual Friends and Family Support Group
Monday, June 6th 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM via Zoom
Join us as we offer a facilitated space to provide support and resources to parents, family members, friends and caregivers of those with the lived experience.

Facilitated by:
Alexis Bracy, M.S., who is a fourth-year psychology doctoral student at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Neen Davis, mother of a son with the lived experience, family support group facilitator and President, Tikvah Board of Directors.

This support group is open to anyone who is close to someone with the lived experience of mental illness; parents, family members, spouses, friends, caregivers, etc.

The Tikvah Staff and volunteers will be splitting their week, sometimes working in the office and sometimes remotely. The office phone is being monitored and calls will be returned by the end of the next business day.
