Tildenville Community Member,

There is no school for our Tigers tomorrow, March 12 and they will be off all next week for a well earned spring break (March 15-19). Classes will resume as usual on Monday, March 22. Tomorrow is also the very last day for our parents to share their opinions on the 2021 Parent Survey:

In this special Spring Break edition you will some important information as it relates to spring testing along with computer lap top care reminders. Please take a close look if this applies to your household.

I hope all of our Tigers will enjoy their Spring Break. Please stay safe and continue to practice health safety procedures whenever possible. I look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday, March 22 whether it be in the classrooms or online!

Spring Testing
Hello Tigers,

We have a very important message for all of our 3-5 grade LaunchEd families. FSA testing is coming up in April and that means we need to start planning for all of our 3-5 grade students to come in to school to take the FSA. Since the start of the 4th nine weeks begins when we return from Spring Break, if you want to have your child return face to face, that would be a perfect time to get back in to school and their class.

If your child is going to remain home for the remainder of the school year, we will need them to still come in and take the FSA on their scheduled day. There are two sessions for each subject – reading and math for 3-5 grades, 1 session for writing – 4th and 5th grades, and two sessions for 5th grade science. Only 1 session can be tested on one day, so your child will be schedule to come to school on multiple days.

The district has decided that there will be no alternative times for students to come in and test, so as of now, we will have two different options for you to choose from when arranging to bring your child up for testing on their designated day. Option 1 is for your child to test with their homeroom teacher and class with the face to face students on testing day. That way they are with a familiar person, their teacher, as they take the FSA. Option 2 will be where LaunchEd students will come in and test in a clean, sanitized classroom that is not used during the school week. These students will test with other launched students, but in a small group size.

We are working hard to plan for FSA and the safety of all of our Tigers. We will be following up with contact to you after Spring Break to schedule your child’s testing day and times. If you have any questions or concerns about FSA this year, please contact Mr. Dolfi ( at the school.

Here are the testing dates:

April 6 - 3rd grade FSA ELA Session 1
April 7 – 3rd grade FSA ELA Session 2

April 8 – 4th/5th grade Writing Component

May 3– 4th/5th grade FSA ELA Session 1
May 4 – 4th/5th grade FSA ELA Session 2

May 6 – 3rd-5th grade Math Session 1
May 7 – 3rd-5th grade Math Session 2

May 10 – 5th grade Science Session 1
May 11 – 5th grade Science Session 2

Spring Break Computer Laptop Care
Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we approach spring break, we wanted to reach out about how to care for the iPad or laptop your student has access to through the OCPS LaunchED Digital Learning program. We want to ensure that students are safely using their devices both at school and at home. Please remind your student of the following best practices:

  • Shut down your laptop when you are not using it.
  • Use your laptop only on a hard, flat surface such as a desk or table.
  • Carry your laptop in a bag or backpack.
  • Unplug your device when it is fully charged.
  • Keep your charger out of reach of young children and pets.
  • Carry your device with both hands if moving around during classroom instruction.

  • Drop your device, even when in a bag or backpack.
  • Cover or block your device’s air vents when in use.
  • Use your devices near food or drink.
  • Pick the device up by the screen.
  • Use liquid cleaner to clean the screen or any part of the device

Students learning both face to face and online in music with Mrs. Vincitore. Check out the new "Swivl" technology hybrid teachers are using. The Swivl camera is stationed on a tripod and swivels around to follow the teacher as she walks around the room to teach. This allows the teacher to move about the room and teach in a more traditional manner helping our LaunchED students learning from home.

Florida Turnpike continues Engineering Week!
Thank you to the Florida Turnpike for carrying out the tradition of learning with our 5th graders during Engineering week. Because of the pandemic we had to do things differently from a traditional face to face visit but you made it happen! The kids were excited and loved the presentation. Thank you for continuing to partner with us year after year!
