The Tiger's Roar!
Tildenville Elementary School Community Brief
Tuesday, November 10, 2020
Tildenville Community Member,

This week our country celebrates Veterans Day on Wednesday, November 11th. I want to encourage you to take some time this week to thank a veteran. Maybe you have a family member who is serving our country in the military or a neighbor who is retired from the military. Our veterans have done so much to guard the many freedoms we enjoy as Americans and they all deserve our respect and gratitude.

As for this current edition, we have included a number of pictures to show our community the wide range of academic and school spirit activities that our Tigers have been engaged in over the past few weeks. There are also some important reminders for parents such as with the 2021-2022 Dual Language Academy and proper laptop computer care. I think you will enjoy this issue and please make sure to mark your calendar for our next SAC (School Advisory Council) meeting on November 17th. If you have a student at Tildenville, we would greatly appreciate your participation and feedback at next Tuesday's meeting.

Enjoy the rest of your week and thank you for remembering the veterans tomorrow!

Student Library Cards
The community goal for the Orange County Library System is to sign up 1,000 new members to receive a library card between October 15 - November 15. This year, they are going completely virtual.

Parents click here to sign up:

Here’s how it works:
  • Invite students, families, friends, and neighbors to sign-up using our school’s link.
  • A library card will be issued and mailed directly to the applicant’s home address.
  • Check and track our progress toward the community goal!
Right: Madison already received her new library card this past Tuesday!
Laptop Computer Damage - OCPS Policy Reminder
Unfortunately we have experienced an increase in damage to student laptops (examples below). We must follow the district policy closely:

  1. First incident of computer damage - $50 fee
  2. Second incident of computer damage - $100 fee
  3. Third incident of computer damage – full replacement cost of device

When a device is issued to a student we document in meticulous detail and the student and parent sign a document acknowledging the condition of the device.
