Ellicottville's Fall Fest is supposed to be a celebration of the changing seasons. This year, with summer stretching into October and rainfall figures poised to dethrone Arizona, the showstopping autumn hues are looking like they could use some support.
Help is on the way... In a few short days we'll be at Fall Fest revitalizing the color palette with our bright orange tent and hefty timber specimens decked out in fine stains.
Samantha will be holding down the fort on October 11th and 12th, right outside the Chamber of Commerce, and if you're going to be in town we'd love to see you there.

It's all hands on deck as we canvas the country putting up homes. A winter from hell (we were convinced that summer had been canceled) meant that foundations couldn't go in on time and projects that were on the board for April got delayed until May or June.
Operations manager Adam lost irrecoverable sleep figuring out how to make up for lost time, but we bolstered our field crew with some great guys -- welcome Patrick, Graham, Josh, Holden & Joey -- and together with the rest of our crusaders they're getting the jobs done.

A fresh batch of Timberbuilts have been scattered across the United States.
A one-of-a-kind barn in the Adirondacks. An Olive in Vermont, California, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Montana, Maryland, Wisconsin and two in New York. A Kirsch in Colorado.
A Marshal in Montana and a Micro in Massachusetts. A Burke in Arizona, Utah, and another right in our backyard.
And the year's not even over...

I’ve been everywhere, man
Crossed the desert’s bare, man
I’ve breathed the mountain air, man
Of travel I’ve a’had my share, man
I’ve been everywhere

Our fleet of white Ford pickups is on the bounce -- see above -- and a backyard job left Tyler to ditch his computer and put on his delivery hat for the day. Thanks Tyler 💪

Even though we've barely cast off our PTSD from last winter, another freezing season is just around the corner. We can't change the weather but we can fight back.
Visiting clients in Montana and Colorado we heard how well their homes keep the cold out and the heat in. Here's Peter from his new home in Glenwood Springs (his last one we built in Buffalo), describing the results of a blower door test on his Burke.
| And Brian in Bozeman with his $5 monthly electric bill. | |
For more than thirty years Timberbuilt founder George has believed in building homes that live at the intersection of beauty, functionality and energy efficiency. Artful. Rugged. Green. We're proud to offer our clients a house that lives up to that goal.
----------
| |
Speaking of things rugged and green, George and Brian just wrapped up Timberbuilt's annual board meeting. But if you're picturing suits, ties and PowerPoints you obviously don't know who you're dealing with... Try mountain lakes, elk bugles and Wes Wallace longbows.
Long past the point of cellphone reception are where the best ideas get hatched, campfire conversations about where we can be thirty years from now. New designs, building techniques and styles of craftsmanship, no idea is off the table when there's not even a table to begin with.
| |
----------
And with that we wish you a great fall and a bearable winter, one that doesn't have you reaching for the hard stuff no matter what type of home you live in.
From everyone here at Timberbuilt, Go Bills!

The Rendering Department
Our rendering department has their eye on the big leagues with a few of the projects they've been working on lately. We love these high quality renderings because of how accurately they translate our design team's vision into reality.

Single floor living without compromise. The Árvore went through a dozen iterations until we hit upon a design with enough storage & living space so that you never miss having a basement.
We were also pleasantly surprised to learn that dollars to square feet, The Árvore is one of the best deals in our lineup.

We designed the Green House for a friend of Timberbuilt's who wanted a green roof and panoramic views of the meadows and forests on his property. This 2,966 SQF home has two stories in addition to a walkout basement, conservatory and a three-car garage.

This summer we packed up our camera gear and headed out west to visit a few of our Rocky Mountain homeowners. We're not Spielberg and we know it, but our fantastic clients make it easy for us to capture some very memorable footage.
We hope you like these interviews as much as we enjoyed filming them.
| | At 2,457 SQF and three bedrooms with en suite bathrooms on the first floor, this is a Burke in name only. NanaWalls line both sides of the house creating a true open living concept. Sit on the back porch and take in the mountains out front, it's the little luxuries that put the polish on life. | | Brian's first Timberbuilt was a large Olive on a hill just outside of Ellicottville. For round two he switched gears to a modern design on a downtown lot in Bozeman. This home (The Metro) has a few tricks up its sleeve that Brian was happy to show off. | | Over in Pagosa Springs Tim and Lisa built this beautiful home from our Baker series. On their previous property they fell in love with their timber frame barn. They decided that when they retired they would build a timber frame home. | | |
This year Port X invited Timberbuilt to team up as co-sponsors of the Empire State Ride and we're thrilled to report that the ride was a resounding success, raising $1.9 million for cancer research at Roswell Park.
Despite coming in with less conditioning than established wisdom recommends (more than one person on the internet called him nuts) our team rider Zach persevered and rode 600 miles from Staten Island to Niagara Falls.
When he pulled up to the curb and said, "I rode my bike here" it was an incredible moment 💪 we're so proud of Zach and the entire Empire State Ride organization for all of the great work that they're doing to fund cancer research.

This is Mackenzie, a great new addition to the office team at Timberbuilt. Mackenzie has a foot in both worlds. She's helping Samantha with client outreach (you may have spoken to Mackenzie on the phone if you've called Timberbuilt recently) and she's also heading up Timberbuilt's burgeoning interior design department.
As one of her first projects Mackenzie completed the interior renderings of the Árvore, which we think came out rather smashing (we have Andy to thank for the equally impressive exterior renderings).

We're rolling into fall with a full head of steam, chiseling sticks of wood into thousand pound puzzle pieces, sanding, staining, and standing 'em up in epic spots across the continent, then cladding them with a plush layer of energy-efficient structural insulated panels.

While our field team is traveling from coast to coast and our shop team is busy finishing, framing, and designing, we're heading back to school this fall with project updates, recent builds, and a brand new design.

Like everyone, we've spent a little more time at home these last few years. We built on the lake, in the ski hills, the local villages -- and we knocked out a bunch of major upgrades at our headquarters in North Collins, NY. Here's a quick look at a few of the local projects that kept us busy.
| | |
We have teams pounding nails in Colorado and Montana. Our designers just sent fresh construction docs to the printer. Interns and summer helpers buzz around our shop, bustling by our woodworker aces, who are covered in sawdust, blasting music through the building, cutting, sanding, staining, and stockpiling timber frames into every corner.
| | |
Dancing around our local quarantine list has been a high-intensity, short duration exercise but we’re getting it done with stops in Washington, Montana, and Oregon.
| | |
It’s a strange new world out there. Even though the Timberbuilt office staff has been working from home for over a month we’ve stayed busy, productive, and are positioning ourselves in the starting blocks, waiting for the shot to get out and start building again.
| | |
Autumn’s here, there’s a chill in the air, and it’s time to find a nice warm spot and hunker down for the winter BUT WE ARE NOT HUNKERERS.

Oceanfront work sites, 16 hours of sunlight a day, and the world's largest bears. What more could we ask for?

We’ve continued to rack up the frequent flyer miles with recent projects ranging from southern Colorado to South Dakota to the Poconos in Pennsylvania. Here’s a look at a few...

From the Colorado Sunbelt in San Juan National Forest to the "Crown Of The Continent" in Glacier National Park, to our own Lake Erie Basin, we spent our year working with an exceptionally diverse, amazing bunch of clients. THANKS to you all!
