It is almost 3:00 in the afternoon-I have been up since the crack of 11:30 AM.
I have not eaten since yesterday and as Jimmy Buffet sang, I am wasting away again in Margaritaville-minus the margarita!!!
Beloved, the one thing in this life that there is NEVER enough of is TIME!!!!!!!!!!!
No one knows exactly how much time we have left!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another TRUTH is that no one takes anything out of THIS life-as the old joke says, “I have never seen a Brinks armored car in any funeral procession.”
I am EXTREMELY honored whenever I hear dear and beloved people like YOU remark to me that they are “WAITING” on my twice weekly sermons to be posted-THANK YOU!
Even my son in prison wrote me a few minutes ago inquiring as to my sermon today's whereabouts.
TIME!!!

As a long time/full time Pastor I have been given a unique insight on this thing called TIME.
I have stood over countless coffins of people I knew and loved and even more people I never met.
I have personally buried and performed the funerals of my parents, sister, one daughter and two, TOO YOUNG grandchildren.
I have PERSONALLY witnessed people in the PRIME of their livesUNEXPECTANTLY lose their lives.......................
My oldest son, BUBBA, (every self respecting Southerner has at least one relative named Bubba!) took me to lunch a few weeks ago and then carted me all over town to obtain parts to fix my car.
At the end of the long afternoon, I thanked him NOT for the lunch but for the TIME spent with him.
I had plenty of money and can always make more money BUT, beloved, one cannot manufacture more TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ONLY ONE LIFE TWILL SOON BE PAST
ONLY THE THINGS DONE FOR CHRIST WILL LAST!!!!!!!!
Remember the Story of Martha and Mary?
Luke 10:38-42 (KJV)
38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.
40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
REMEMBER Jesus complimented Mary, saying, “MARY HATH CHOSEN THAT GOOD PART!!!???”
What, the question begs to be answered, is/was that “GOOD PART????”
TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jesus had many people that could easily wait on him and serve Him-in fact, he would have been happy with a bucket of KFC!!!!
As I type this message, I am hungry and have enough money in my pocket to buy-pretty much-whatever I want/need to eat.
And NO, I am not Joel Osteen rich!!!!!!!!!!
What I don't have or even know is how much TIME do I have left here on planet earth?
And, how best to USE whatever TIME allotted to me...............................
As I spend sleepless nights with little Amanda, I MUST remind myself, sometimes minute to minute, that someday there will be no more nights with her or with any other loved ones-TIME!
TODAY, spend your TIME wisely!!! We only have so much of it.
Make TIME for that phone call, make TIME for that visit, make TIME for that hug, make TIME to spend TIME correctly.
In closing, have you ever spent TIME with someone who really did not want to take the TIME to talk to you or be with you??????????????????
Know this, beloved, they are NOT fooling anybody-we ALL know and feel their impatience.
As Mr. Osteen rightly proclaimed, “Spend your time with those who CELEBRATE you and not merely TOLERATE you!!!!”
As the Chambers Bros. Sang above:
“TIME HAS COME TODAY-DON'T PUT IT OFF TILL ANOTHER DAY!!!”
