was appointed Minister of Vocational Training and Employment on 6 February 2015. He was born in Sousse on 30 March 1975. He is married and has one son. Before his recent appointment, Zied Ladhari was an elected member of the People's Representatives Assembly for Sousse since October 2014. From 2011 to 2014 Zied served as elected member of the National Constituent Assembly for the same constituency.
Before being elected in 2011, Zied Ladhari was admitted as qualified lawyer to the Tunisian and French Bar associations and has specialized in Economics and International Affairs.
Zied started his studies first at Tunis University, where he obtained a Master degree in Law, and a postgraduate diploma in private Law (supplemented by evening courses in Economics and Finance). He then continued his studies in Paris where he obtained a postgraduate degree from Sorbonne University (Paris I) in international and comparative law and Arab countries law and a second degree in banking and finance. In parallel, he studied political sciences and international relations at the Paris Institute of Political Studies.
Zied has practiced in multinational law firms in Paris for several years and has specialized in economic and financial affairs, with a special focus on international economic law and international investment. His law practice also included representing foreign governments in cross border disputes, particularly in the context of international arbitration proceedings between States and foreign investors.
He is currently member of the Executive Bureau of the Ennahdha Party and its spokesperson since October 2013. He was a member of the delegation representing his Party in the National Dialogue held under the auspices of the Quartet, and a member of the delegation representing its parliamentary group in the Consensus Committee on the Constitution. He is fluent in Arabic, French and English written and spoken.
