MIKE BOGLE:

A versatile and dynamic musician Mike Bogle was nominated for a GRAMMY® for his arrangement of Chick Corea's composition Got A Match? recorded by the University of North Texas (UNT) One O’Clock Lab Band.


Mike’s latest collaborations include work with jazz artist Paul Messina on the album

Blue Fire (2022) and a new full-length musical play with collaborator Dr. Jerry Cotton

called Le Bourreau the Musical (2022 - Acts I and II).


Other recent releases include Rhapsody In Blue (2020) featuring the iconic George Gershwin piece plus one of Mike’s originals “Concerto For Pan, Mvmt II: Seascapes” and some favorites from Mozart and Bach.


Mike’s 2019 release, Let There Be Light, has been described as Chick Corea meets Pat Metheny, with deep influences from Jazz and Latin with a healthy dash of Funk.


An accomplished pianist/keyboardist, vocalist, composer, arranger and trombonist, Bogle’s performance/arranging credits include Irene Cara (musical director and arranger), Doc Severinsen, Bobby Caldwell, Jaco Pastorius, Burt Bacharach, Diana Ross, Tom Jones, the UNT One O’Clock Lab Band, Latin American artists Willie Chirino, Lissette, Gustavo Rojas, and El Grupo Chequere (Tania Records).


Mike has released several CD’s under his own name: Other Life (1994), Eternal Family (2004 -- reaching #28 on the Jazz Week Jazz Chart based on airplay), Hipness Oasis (2012 - Mike Bogle Trio), Live at Stoney’s (2014 - Mike Bogle Trio), Dr, B! (2018 - Mike Bogle Trio), Let There Be Light (2019 - Dr. Mike Bogle),

and Rhapsody In Blue (2020 – Dr. Mike Bogle).


Michael Bogle holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of North Texas in Music Performance, as well as Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Jazz Studies. Dr. Bogle also attended the University of Miami where he studied Studio Music and Jazz. Currently Dr. Bogle teaches a wide assortment of courses (Jazz Piano, Synthesizer, Digital Music Production, Composition/Orchestration, MIDI and Recording Ensemble) at Dallas College, Cedar Valley Campus in Lancaster, TX while continuing to grow as an artist and maintaining a vibrant career as a jazz performer and composer. He was also 3X GRAMMY® Music Educator Award quarterfinalist.

GERHARD KRAUS:

Gerhard Kraus, professional jazz guitarist, lecturer in music, author and guitar historian/curator,

was born in Southern Germany and has lived in the USA for many years now.


He has performed with many of the best jazz musicians in the world such as Hank Jones, Joe Pass, Dusko Goykovich and many more.

Gerhard also plays with the Houston Jazz Band (for 15 years), the Lynn Seaton Quartet, 

and many other internationally renowned bands from duo to sextet worldwide.


He always provides an honest, interesting and powerful jazz performance with a classic jazz guitar sound, 

without electronic effects and without any playback, looper, iPad etc., 

but with a lot of musicality, virtuosity and know-how.

KAI WAGNER:

Kai Wagner, is a great bass player who is a student at University of North Texas in the master’s program.
